Let me tell you about my experience at Santa's earlier tonight. It was such an amazing experience for me and I had a wonderful time meeting Pudge. I don't have the pics yet, but when I develop them this week, I'll post them up for ya.

 

I arrived at Santa's at 4pm, to make sure that I was one of the first ones there to meet Pudge. Some security, for some odd reason, asked me if I was Pudge's wife. ::shrug:: Don't ask. I don't look anything like her. And he was serious too. LOL

 

Anywho, when Santa's opened, I went to sit by the giant Christmas tree. They had it lit up in teal and the top was like some kind of fireworks looking topper. It was very pretty. On another small tree, they had written in teal lights, "2003 WORLD CHAMPS". Pudge was supposed to light the tree. I took pics of both.

 

Pudge was real late. He was supposed to arrive at 7pm, but he arrived at 8pm due to a major accident on the highway (Miss Florida accident maybe?) When he did arrive, it was awesome. I had the girls I was with in line to start yelling, "WE LOVE PUDGE" with me. At one point, I had the entire crowd scream, "WE WANT PUDGE!" (that was when we were waiting for him).

 

They had set up a rope and Pudge was supposed to pass by, shake hands, and sign autos. I was right at the front. Pudge signed my SI Champ Edition mag cover for me. I wanted a pic with him but everyone was pushing around, it was impossible for me.

 

At the end, when he was leaving, he passed by me again. I held my hand out (I was at the front again) and he got my hand and my hand was in his hand for what was a good 10 seconds (which seemed like 10 hours for me). I was literally holding his hand.

 

I know it isn't much for some, but for me it's like a dream come true. I have always wanted to meet Pudge. I can proudly say that tonight was one of the very best nights of my life. That was something I will never forget.

Ack....and right now I have no voice from all that screaming. LOL I feel like a teeny bopper after a Backstreet Boys concert. LMAO!

It was awesome. I also had the crowd yell, "ONE MORE YEAR!" This one guy said, "Wait...one more year? FIVE more years!" So we all started screaming "FIVE MORE YEARS!" LMAO! It was great.

It's very strange that you managed to get an autograph, the Herald today said that there would be no autographs allowed at his appearance. Oh well.

Congratulations. Sometimes you wonder if ballplayers know they have this kind of affect on people. Nice to see.

funny story: i remember at picture day last season before the mets game i took a pic with Julian Tavarez and then asked him for an autograph and the man responded with "perdon pero esto maricones no quiren que firmemos, ni nos dieron plumas"

 

english: "sorry but these faggots dont want us to sign, they didnt even give us pens"

I was there as well and I was surprised he signed considering they're charging tomorrow, but I do have to admit that he was one of the nicest ppl I've met. Considering I've heard stories about him being snotty. But he was totally opposite. Afterwards they rode him around in a golfcart so his kids could ride rides and he signed and took more pictures. It was really nice of him. He's a great guy! I hope he stays with the Marlins for atleast another yr!

Oh, I saw some kid (10 yrs old maybe) who had a sign that "All I want for XMas is that Pudge stays with the Marlins!" It was so cute, I had to take a pic of him holding up the sign.

Even though I was not able to take a pic with him, I got some amazing pics of him signing autos and lighting the tree and stuff.

a lot cuter than those kids holding up that Braves sign "Divsion Champs all our lives" (they were like 7). WELL NOT NEXT YEAR BUDDY! BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Happy for you!!! :thumbup I went to the Panther game last night... There was a nice tribute to the Marlins. I live in PBC and really don't care where they build the new staduim but when he(husband) ran late last night and we didn't get there until game time I wanted to kill him. :banghead I gave up girl's night out to go to the stupid Hockey game only because he said that they were having a Marlins celebration.... Next time I am driving myself!!! LOL

 

He is a Pitt fan anyway. (looser)!!! lol
