People on this board who say they are glad Pudge is not a Marlin really are upset that he is not. The reason no one is talking about the others that left ,no one cared. Pudge struck an emotional cord with the Flordia Marlins and the fans. Neither will find it again.Thats why people are pissed. They love the guy and he left for more money. Which he will not get. Very sad to have one of the best catchers ever with no place to play.This is the part of mlb I hate.

I am a Cub fan.I have followed Fudge his entire career.I thought what the Marlins did last year was special.I was raised in Chicago,I live in San Diego now.It was also cool you beat the Yankees. Although, I like Clemens and a few of his teammates. The Yankees, and other high spending teams, cause the Marlins to lose players like P udge.

Why do people hate Fudge? Because he played for the Marlins one year,helpd them win the W.S.?Nw the contract he is offered is not what he wants so he leaves. What does he owe the Marlins and there fans that the World Series win did not cover? To come back?Is that why people hate him? I can understand being angry but hating him? It is how baseball is done. The Marlin fans maybe feel like Fudge did when after 16 years with the Rangers they deside they no longer want him.Maybe people hate him because of the giant statue in his backyard? Funny, no one hated it when he held onto that ball to beat the Giants.

Because of the type of free agent Pudge was the Marlins receive no draft pick for losing him. I think they should have been talking to him all along. Now another team can sign him and they do not lose a draft pick.I hope he goes to the Cubs.

Well,Pudge saved me money. Now when the Marlins play the padres I will not have to buy tickets. I did last year. I also bought a t-shirt and a few other things. Not signing him will cost the team on the road also. I do think the Marlins and Pudge were a perfect fit last year. To bad they have to part.

He is only worth 10 mil if he can get someone to pay him that. I said 3 years at 8 million a year. That deal is fair to both.

I thought the season is about getting to and winning the W.S.? The Marlins do not make it to the W.S without Pudge. Maybe if he had of stayed in games longer when the Marlins were winning or losing he could have padded his stats. He is a catcher so he leaves some of these games early.So he is rested for the playoffs. 297ba. 85 rbi is not the worst season ever by a catcher. The ballpark is not for homeruns either.

Pudge is right. Why should he take a pay cut after every other Marlin is getting a raise?If Pudge was a Cub last year they would have won the series.He also knows the Marlins can not afford a 50 million dollar contract. I think he is looking for along term contract. 3 or 4 years 8 million a year would be fair. I hope he stays in Florida. He would be good for the Cubs. He maybe the key player again for a team. I hope goes out next year with something to prove. Like he did this year. Show everyone you are not to old.Like he proved this year.

I guess I am one of the few who hopes Pudge gets many offers.I know people want him back.I can only image how he felt last Jan. The team he had been with since he was 16 no longer wanted him. He played almost every game for them in the mid to late 90s. A future Hall of Famer and people are saying he is done at 31. I hope he cleans up on the F.A . market.He gave the Marlins everything he had . That is all he owed them.

So the Marlins have a month to sign him.I read in the Post that the Padres were interested.I live in San Diego.We just finished(we tax payers help pay for this)the new stadium.It would be great to land a name free agent like Pudge.But I have no faith in Padre management to spend a dime.They suck .It would be nice for me if Pudge played here.Do not worry ,Marlin fans .Will not happen.If it did I would buy season tickets in a minute.

Does anyone know if this is true? Because Pudge had a no arbitration clause in his contract, if the Marlins, do not sign him by Nov. 10,then he can not resign with the Marlins, until the end of May.

To say Pudge likes his boat more then his family is low. We do not know were Pudge will end up. How do we know if the Marlins have offered him anything. Maybe they just desided to go elsewhere. The Marlins do not have that good of a track record of keeping key players after they win the World series.
