Up until today I thought Pudge would resign with Marlins. Now, I know he will not.I guess that is just the business of baseball. If it was fair the Rangers would have kept Pudge a Ranger. He took a discount to stay there. A- RODs contract means that team will never win.They did him a favor.

The agents job is to get the best contract for his client.Pudge waited until January for a 1 year deal. If the Marlins wanted Pudge they should have signed him last year for more years.

I will admitt it. I have been a Pudge fan for 10 years. We are the same age.I have followed him for along time. I do not think it is about greed. He wants more then a 1 or two year deal. It was a tough winter for him last year. All the money he gets(which will not be as much as he wants because of the market)he deserves. I think his heart will always be with Texas. He was signed at 16.Then they threw him out. I think he does not want to go through free agency every year or two. Texas was not loyal to him after 16 years in there organization, why should he be loyal to the Marlins after 1 year?

This is much to do about nothing, simply "posturing" during the negotiation process.

After Pudge filed for FA it was all over for the Marlins except for the crying. See ya Pudge. Let's hope Castro finally gets a chance to show his worth (and isn't playing in the Quebec Provincial Correctional League next year.) And although Castro isn't Pudge by any stretch, I think he's a quality player who will blossom with some PT.

Luckily, Ivan stayed healthy this year. Given his age and history, his options may not be as great as Boras thinks. His catching skills have diminished IMO, but he can still provide the offense. How many catchers hit over .300 this year? Unfortunately, he'll still get part of his deferred money for the next two years that count against the club's luxury cap. I don't see him returning to the Marlins next year.

u ppl should not blame boras...if pudge really wanted to stay here all he has to do is tell boras(who works for pudge) wut he would accept from the marlins and wut he would take from any other team..if he wants to say all he has to do is step in and say so.
