November 8, 200322 yr The Marlins are likely to offer free agent Luis Castillo a three-year contract to remain with the team. :w00t
November 8, 200322 yr Author The question is when will loria give beinfest the payroll/money to spend list?
November 8, 200322 yr The Marlins are likely to offer free agent Luis Castillo a three-year contract to remain with the team. Castillo is believed to be seeking about $20 million over three years. The Marlins probably won't go that high, making it likely that the second baseman will head elsewhere. The Mets, Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox and Dodgers are believed to be interested. rotoworld.com
November 8, 200322 yr Author But luis doesn't wanna be a yankee,so he'll come with us,or another team except the yankees. When your a yankee you have to much weight on your shoulders and thats why luis will not become a yankee.
November 8, 200322 yr If Castillo stays does that mean LEE is out definetley, and either LOWELL or PUDGE leave aswell???

Well, if Luis becomes a Yankee, what are they going to do with Soriano? Either convert him to an OF or trade him, right? What about us trading for Soriano in that case? I know he is not the same defensive super-weapon as Castillo is in 2nd, but that can be fixed under the right toutelage. Plus Soriano is younger, cheaper, and with better speed right now than Castillo with his bad hip. And he has much more power. I am not saying to get rid of Castillo, but the amount of money that he would be asking has to be placed in comparison to what he brings to the baseball field as a player. And if Soriano is a better fit, and Castillo has his mind set in going to the higher bidder (i am not saying he is, just an assumption), then why not trade for the guy? He might get a little pricey down the road, but which good player doesn't? I don't know, some ideas I am throwing around. Although Soriano has been mentioned in trade talks with Arizona for Schilling and Montreal for Vazquez... you never know. All that it would take is Looper and probably one or two relief pitchers from the minors. The Yankees are desperate for pitching help. But then you definetely have to sign Urbina... argh, my brain aches... :confused
November 8, 200322 yr Author Come'on loria make the payroll list so beinfest can get his cool a$$ on the phone, your the man beinfest!
November 8, 200322 yr Well, if Luis becomes a Yankee, what are they going to do with Soriano? Alfonso would go to CF, allowing the team to finally DH Williams. They would then most likely trade Johnson.
November 8, 200322 yr why would they DH williams? hes ok for centerfield but he would be above avg LF. i think soriano is going to arizona or montreal because yanks want a badass pictcher
November 8, 200322 yr I don't believe Castillo will be leaving the Marlins. Just a gut feeling. wildcard, kudos on the new avatar. i wanted to beat you with a stick when you would post with that beck pic.
November 8, 200322 yr Arizona for Schilling Just a sidenote here, Schilling said he will not play for the Yankees.
November 8, 200322 yr Arizona for Schilling Said he didn't want to leave ARI but has said he would only waive his clause for Philly he has said a lot though.
November 9, 200322 yr why would they DH williams? hes ok for centerfield but he would be above avg LF. i think soriano is going to arizona or montreal because yanks want a badass pictcher Bernie is old. He is nowhere near the defensive player he used to be. He also injured himself in the field last year a few times. It's well known they want to DH him.
