Seung-Yeop Lee

i think it was just speculation on a possible trade for Lee....

anyway, from what I saw this year(which wasnt more than 20 innings) he was always all over the place...

Yes, the Lee trade was just johnny's idea

And I think that Cruz might get into that pitcher's mentality with some work by Wayne Rosenthal. I mean, look what he helped do for Josh and Brad.

Well from what I saw, he was a little wild, but not much. Whenever I saw him on WGN, which was I don't know how much, he wasn't too wild, just spooked and he's bound to lose a game.

And no Juany, Rosenthal wouldn't be able to fix him. Cruz would have to fix himself. Which I think the only way to do it is put him for relief and ease him into setup and then ease him into closer after a few years. If he's going to pan out, it sure will be one heck of a b*tch.

While he can't fix everything, you can't say he wouldn't have anything to do with it.

The Cubs have one of the best pitching coaches. I don't think he can just be fixed. Especially with the problems Cruz has. It's not mechanical.

And what makes you think Rosenthal can fix anybody? He needs to fix Almanza and Looper first.

I never said he could fix everything.

And Admin Rothschild is THE BEST pitching coach. But he can't fix everyone. Maybe a change of scenery would be nice. Besides, the kid has pitched all of what, 20 major league innings? You are going to draw a conclusion from 20 major league innings?

With those glasses on he has an interesting resemblance to Miguel Cabrera.

That's what I was thinking.

But chinese people have b!tch hair, most of them,lo.

That's great!

Except for the fact he's Korean. :banghead Same sh!t he still has b!tch hair, lol. :banghead Who cares about his hair ? Are you gay ? What matter is how he perform's in the field

I think it's more Jack McKeon's "tough love" approach than Rosenthal that helped Brad and Josh.

Trader basically put those two back in their places.

Wild Card,

putting all the "fake" trade ideas aside, what do you think of Juan Cruz from a talent and potential point of view?

The cubs would make the deal. They are stacked with pitching and they need a 1st baseman.

NO. WAY. IN. HELL.

IMO?

Cruz is sickning. You basically can't find a prospect with better stuff than Cruz. He has one of the best, hard-breaking sinkers in baseball. But like someone said, he just struggles with control. He'll give up the long ball ocasionally. And like we have said with Brad so many times, you can only be a prospect for so long. He is currently 25 (and if you've ever seen him, he looks like he's 35).

I think he's going to be Braden Looper with worse control.

one thing that worries me about J Cruz is the fact that no matter how hard he throws he is a very raw pitcher. and when you add that with his small size that leads to injuries. his age is also a concern to me because i would not be surprised if he was a few years older.

arent these the same things basically said about clement.

great stuff...but cant transform it into producation consistently.

But Clement can hold down a job.

well the difference between Clement and J Cruz is mostly body build. Cruz is not the most durable pitcher but when hes on his pitches are all solid.

First off, this is just an idea. Having said that, Cruz would be a pretty damn good closer - and considering the money it would take to keep Uggy around, we may have to deal for another bullpen arm. Looper cant do it when it matters consistently. Spoon, who knows. Neal? Shrug. Cruz has gnasty stuff, and pitching outside of Wrigley may help - pitchers can get rocked there. Landing Seop-Choi would only give us another 1B hitting prospect who could come in and play should Stokes not be ready or an injury occur. I think Seop-Choi has not been given a chance.

Fact is we have to deal Derek Lee if we want to keep Lowell and Burnett. Dont even get me started on Castillo and Pudge...

What scares me about this is that I can see Jim Hendry considering a Lee for Cruz/Choi deal. Dusty refused to give Juan and Hee Seop much of a chance this season, and it would give the Cubs a full-time 1B, therefore we wouldn't have to keep the Greek around anymore.

For Cubs fans, it's anathema. Cruz and Choi have such upside that we can only hope Dusty gets over himself and agrees to just play them more often. Only God knows what will happen.
