(despite the fact that I don't think it's really an option for either team, anyways).

exactly. THis is all moot because he's not playing for SF or Florida. Although I think he would be more likely to sign with the Giants because of Alou and because of the fact MacGowan wants the Giants to win the WS so badly.

somebody go to the O's board and tell those guys we are getting Vlad not them....

lol, gimme their website.... You mean you haven't already?!

i like vlad and in my opinion he will be a marlin.

Using the word "will" is stating it as a fact, not an opinion. :banghead

Again I disagree.

There would be much less pressure in South Florida, and it's w/o a doubt the most latin community there is. Not to mention they just won a world championship. And I'm sure he'd rather play the ball off the PPS left field wall then the Pac Bell LF wall. :p

But again, I still don't think either team has a chance. Baltimore is going to get him, and nobody else will even come close.

(although I still think they need to hand out SOME semi-long-term deals)

I think some semi-long term years to young players are okay.

Yea,w/e nerd. :dork

Oh, I'm so sorry that I have an education.

Not to mention I'm a starting quarterback.

I'm such a nerd.

BTW: do you even know what " :dork " means?

(although I still think they need to hand out SOME semi-long-term deals)

I think some semi-long term years to young players are okay. I know a guy named Beanne that would agree with that.

lol my bad ya right than go the one on ESPN these motherf***ers are so sure they got Vlad its not even funny.....

and by the way no contracts in baseball should be longer than 4 years and the 4th year should have a buyout!!!!! and if there is a 5th year it should bea etam option!!!!!!

who can ever predict that a baseball player who has an amazing year in 2002 will have the same year in 03.. and you give them a larger amount money the way they preformed in 2002 aka Pat Burelll

I can explain what I think about this post with just using smilies...

Well since he's worth 15mill a year, lets say he takes 14 mill for being with the team he wants to be with(marlins)

:mischief2

i really think a 3year 36 mill contract, which will mean 6 mill less but atleast he will have a nice 3 year contract

:lol :lol :lol

here are some other reasons.

I think some semi-long term years to young players are okay. I know a guy named Beanne that would agree with that. Yes, and I'm hoping that Beane would agree that signing Eric Chavez to said semi-long term contract would be a great idea.

i really think a 3year 36 mill contract

From what I've been hearing, Ivan Rodriguez wouldn't except that deal to stay in Florida, none the less Vlad Guerreo to come here.

Did you "accept" instead of "except". I can't figure out what you meant.

Slipped. Mental error.

accept*.

Signing people takes money.... And the Fish ain't got none.

But then again... Aside from Bobby V. claiming that Almanza is the 2nd best lefty in baseball (D'oh) when has anyone on ESPN's baseball crew ever been right about anything??

I will go out on a limb and say if he recovers fully from surgery he will live up to that statement. And for a very cheap price as well.
