I think it's still kind of early for that.

I voted for Bakey. He had a great game today. I would've voted for Burke Badenhop, but he's not an option.

I watched the highlights on MLB.com....holy COW was Tommy Hutton pissed at Bob Davidson! I love Tommy.

Was there a reason, other than to pump up his own team, for Weaver to throw at Hanley?

 

I didn't understand it and apparently neither did Hutton or Waltz.

Badenhopp deserves made props for getting a perfect shot on Hudson.

Should have swept the series but taking 2 of 3 from the best team in baseball is huge.

 

Uggla got hot today offensively and Credit Baker for getting on base 5 times today.

 

 

Uggla had 2 hits and the only ribbie was the dinger. Seeing he went 2-13 in this series I would wait a while yet to say he is hot. He has been a tease all year with that bat and he is one of the guys we expect better from.

The thing that got to me was that he did in consecutive pitches. That should not have been a warning. He couldn't have made his intentions more obvious if he had yelled at Hanley to drop his bat and turn his back to the pitch. He should have been ejected and then the benches warned. But I'm not sure if that is within the rules. I think a warning has to be issued before an ejection can happen under these circumstances. I seem to remember hearing the rule and then thinking it wasn't fair to the team being bonked not being able to retaliate/protect their guys. I'm sure someone will look up the rule.

The 4 runs given up by Volstad is a much more accurate portrayal of the way he pitched throughout this game than the fact he began with 5 scoreless innings. He didn't have it going, and it was lucky that we had scored often and early to give us enough runs to win this one.

Certainly agree on Volstad. He had nada throughout.

 

However, I though Vandenhurk was outstanding the other night. I thought he was successful despite really bad treatment by the ump calling balls and strikes.

Volstad and Vandenhurk both struggled. Too many deep counts and not enough strikes.

Yup, it is. And i agree that that's exactly what should have happened.

I doubt it, J.J. hit him in an 0-2 count so I highly doubt it was intentional. Just and Inside pitch that got away from him.

 

Weaver threw at Hanley twice however in an 8-0 game and should have been ejected but was only warned.

 

Then Hopper I'm pretty sure intentionally hit Hudson because they we're going to bring in Pinto to face the 2 lefties up next.

Yeah that was in no way intentional. You could see JJ yell "f***" right after he hit him. It was an 0-2 fastball that got away.
