Uggla signed for $7.8 million

I believe he meant that the only player ON THE MARLINS who can make that argument is Hanley Ramirez. I think this because his 1st sentence said about how Dan Uggla isn't even a top 10 2nd baseman (I disagree with that, but whatever). I could be wrong, but that's what I think was meant.

you have to be out of your mind if you dont think Uggla is not only a top 10 but a top 5 second baseman ... in the LEAGUE

You would definitely have to be out of your mind if you think Uggla is actually a top five second baseman in the MLB.

1. Utley

2. Pedrioa

3. Kinsler

4. Cano

5. Uggla

6. Phillips

Who's better then them?

Utley, Pedroia, Kinsler, Cano, Roberts, Phillips, Polanco > Uggla.

That's puts him (at best) at 8th, and if you include Zobrist in there then he would be 9th. Guys like Hill and Lopez are also almost as good, and some say they're just as good.

Phillips is better defensively by a long shot but Uggla out produces him any day of the week, I'll give you Polonco and Zobrist if he stays at 2nd for an entire season but Roberts is not better then Dan Uggla besides a slight defensive advantage. Hill has been good and had a breakout year last season but I doubt he repeats that success and Jose Lopez has just began his stardom and might be better in a year or two.

I mean Uggla may not be in the top 5 but right now he is definitely a top 10 2nd baseman in the league.

Yeah, he probably falls into the top 10, but not top five. People on this board have a tendency to overrate him, but I guess that should be expected.

Yeah that's expected from a Marlin Fan site. Hopefully he steps his game up this year and puts himself in that top 5.

For the record, Placido Polanco isn't a 2B anymore. Not just that but his bat has fallen over the last couple years, I wouldn't put him ahead of Uggla regardless.

No, I actually can't think of anyone on the Marlins who is underrated by this board, except for maybe Carroll...
