January 20, 201016 yr Here's my salary estimate from November: I was thinking about $45M. So I assume it's possible, but as we've all expected, that places a lot of pressure on the staff. If this were Price Is Right I might beat you. Where's my speed boat? the old lady who bid $45,000,001's having a blast on it so much bitching going on in this thread... cheers to payroll going up and the marlins keeping the players they had :cheers
January 21, 201016 yr Is anyone else thoroughly amused by BroncoBob repeatedly fellating himself over the fact that he [allegedly] predicted that payroll would be between $45-$50 million? He must have reminded us more than a half a dozen times. What I find amusing about this is that it really wasn't a bold predication a couple of months ago and one did not need to go out onto a limb to make it. Personally I might not have explicity stated it here (because I never thought to) but I fully expected payroll to be on the higher side of the mid-40s. Frankly, I think mostly everyone else here was of the same mindset and no one really denied such a payroll increase. So dedicated is Bob to his own self-gratification is that he needs to take shots at MarlinsLou, despite the fact that Lou predicted the arbitration value for every player on the nose. Most of us are impressed by this skill, not the ability to make a claim over something that was purely self-evident. Lou is too modest to say this, but I'm sure he's laughing right now. Bob, everyone needs some spring in their step but you have a habit of pushing the line here. You also predicted that Gaby Sanchez wouldn't be with this organization by Opening Day. That would be a real prediction. Lou is too modest? we talking the same Lou?
