The Marlins on Monday announced their full list of non-roster invitees. In addition to 39 players on the 40-man roster, the Marlins have invited 22 players to big league camp.

Here's the breakdown of players signed to minor league deals: Right-handed pitchers Clay Hensley, Seth McClung, Kasey Olenberger, Matt Peterson, Chris Schroder, Scott Strickland, Derrick Turnbow and Jose Veras; catcher Vinny Rottino; infielders Brian Barden, Hector Luna, Donnie Murphy and Danny Richar.

The following are organizational players that will be in big league camp as well: Left-handed pitchers Dan Jennings and Jay Voss; catchers Brad Davis and Chris Hatcher; infielders Matt Dominguez, Ozzie Martinez and Logan Morrison; outfielders Bryan Petersen and Michael Stanton.

Pitchers and catchers are on the field on Feb. 20 and the first full squad workout is set for Feb. 24 in Jupiter

Not much to get too excited about on that list.

Yeah, because most teams have some really exciting non-roster invitees

I'm looking forward to seeing who emerges from the yearly battle of bullpen attrition as well as DoMing, LoMo, Petersen and Giancarlo.

You have not been keeping up with transactions if you think the Marlins have a impressive group here. A lot of talented veterans have signed minor league deals this winter.

I don't know what he's going to say, but I'm guessing he will say Brian Giles and Marcus Thames who both signed MILB deals this week.

Those are two guys who would have helped the Marlins. Thames is getting 900K if he makes the Yankees (which he will) so I could see where the Marlins would have balked at that.

What is Thames value to this team? Gaby should crush LHP, Cody crushes LHP, and the only thing Helms hits anymore is LHP. We don't need an OFer who crushes LHP, we need a LHB who can play outfield.

Brian Giles is that, but would you really be excited about signing Brian Giles at 39?

There's a good chance we add somebody to fill the Gload role at the end of Spring Training. We don't need to be excited about non-roster invitees. Geoff Jenkins, Marcus Thames, Brian Giles, and the like are not making or breaking this team. Those guys will not be hard to find come March 30.
