Sunday, May 2 Tickets Sun Life Stadium | 1:10 PM ET

WSH John Lannan, LHP (1-1, 5.53)

Nationals (13-11) @ FLA Josh Johnson, RHP (2-1, 3.19)

Marlins (12-12)

Nationals: Lannan will try to get back to pitching more efficiently when he faces the Marlins in the series finale. Lannan admittedly labored over his last two starts, yielding 22 runners and seven runs over 12 innings against the Rockies and Cubs -- even though he was able to keep his team in both games. He looked more in control in an earlier game against the Brewers, holding them to two runs over seven innings. Despite his travails with the strike zone against the Cubs in his last game, he held them to three runs in an eventual 4-3 loss. Still, Lannan noted that he was "sick" of doing things the hard way. Against the Marlins, he has pitched well on occasion and is a career 2-1 with a 4.43 ERA.

Marlins: So, how does Johnson improve on his last outing? On Monday, Johnson turned in the start of his life, hurling going the distance and driving in three runs in a 10-1 win over the Padres. He Johnson allowed as many hits -- three -- as he had himself. He struck out a career-high 12 batters, allowed just four baserunners -- the other on his only walk -- and was two innings away from the first shutout of his career, until Matt Stairs hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. Still, Johnson will settle for the fourth complete game of his career. That came to fruition when he struck out Chase Headley to end it on his 117th pitch. Johnson came into the game with an uncharacteristic 4.09 ERA and hadn't pitched past the sixth in any of his previous four starts. For his career against the Nationals, the 26-year-old is 5-0 with a 3.51 ERA in 11 games (10 starts).http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news/probable_pitchers/index.jsp?c_id=fla

More of the same from JJ please. Another CG will do me. However it would also mean that the bullpen has 3 full days off by the time we start against the Giants on Tuesday

Which is exactly why the new retractable roof stadium is needed. On scorching hot days you can close it and let the fans enjoy the AC and baseball. It also takes less of a toll on the players.

Look Cody, we know you're good. No need to show off.

haha, that was a rather interesting route to the ball
