MLB 2K10 My Player stupidness...

Featured Replies

OK so.. I'm in my rookie year [2011] leading the majors in a whole bunch of offensive categories as June enters. That includes homers, RBIs, batting average, etc.

[To give you an idea: .419, 27 homers, 80 rbi]

The first thing that's insanely stupid.... Is that I'm batting leadoff on the Marlins. .... 80 RBIs after the first game of June, and I'm batting first. Why? Did they base the lineups off of Joe Torre's Yankees in 2003 and previous when Soriano was there?

Another thing... Top of the 10th goes like this:

Brian Barden strikes out swinging.

Brett Carroll flies out.

Renyel Pinto homers.

.... I'm sorry, what?

Anyone else have some funny / stupid stories from this? lol

Not that I can really think of although most of the hits I give up are straight up the middle. I've put a lot of skill points into fielding range, fielding anticipation, but they're always hits. I find it very annoying.

I'll have an odd bad game where I'm giving up hits every inning, my pitch count is very high, I can't throw strikes and they won't take me out. That's usually because we have a 2 or 3 run lead. I've had a few 1-0 and 2-1 leads going into the 9th and I'm always back out there, even if I'm over 100 pitches. Seems like an obvious time for the closer, doesn't it? Especially when I've given up 11-14 hits in the game so far.

I went like 25-3 with a 1.70 ERA, 285 strikeouts in my 2011 season. Obviously I won the Cy Young, the triple crown for pitching and many other categories. The Marlins won the World Series.

For 2012, Uggla was gone... they're platooning Coghlan with Carroll and the pitching is horrible. I'm 10-5 with a 2.10 ERA and we're 13 games out of the division lead with a sub-500 record and its late July. It's just horrible. We've gone from World Champions to... bottom of the NL East. Sounds like the Marlins to me, but I'm going to probably request a trade at the end of the season. I need some run support, I'm sick of going into the 8th and 9th innings at 0-0.

I don't play it for that long everyday, I'll just spend 30 minutes or so... pitch 1 or 2 games and then switch it off.

Bro, up the difficulty. You have 80 RBI batting 1st in June? Come on Kid.

There doesn't appear to be a difficulty setting on here.

And I was batting 5th and 4th most the season, I had somewhere between 65-70 batting 4th and 5th.

I was playing on easy just for funsies, and I finished my rookie season batting .480-something, with 89 homeruns and 190-something RBI.

I didn't win Rookie of the Year.

The guy who did win the award, whose name I can't remember right now, hit something like .280, 22 HR, 86 RBI.

Awesome algorithms there, 2K, awesome.

Maybe the other guy is a great fielder? :D

Well it's cause your character is on horse steroids.

The 2K series will never be as good as The Show, which makes me sad cause I dont have a PS3

I'm proud to say I bought my PS3 just for The Show.

I may do that after I move and get a job.

I have to say I bought a PS3 just for 09 Show aswell. The next game I buy might be 2012 when the new stadium comes out.

Does the game run most of the decisions or something?

It does in My Player mode, yes, as you're just that one player. You don't have any say in anything external to your own player. Even then... the game had me pitch the 1st and 2nd game of the season before... you can't ask to be taken out or anything.
