Posted May 20, 201014 yr Some of the worst patience I have seen from this team today. Honestly, how many 1 pitch outs did we have? Struck out too many times as well. We let Wainwright stay in the game longer than he should have. I think Brett Hayes was our best player today too. That's saying a lot... And the Braves just came back from an 8-0 deficient to win 10-9.... Whatever, win tomorrow.
May 20, 201014 yr Disappointing not to come back in the game as the scoring was done after 2 innings. Although splitting the brief series in St Louis is ok as todays pitching matchup greatly favoured the Cards and last nights was also slightly in their favour before Anibal performed exceptionally well. I'm looking forward to the weekend series @ CWS as I haven't watched many games at their park before. We have Nolasco/Volstad/JJ so hopefully things go well.
May 20, 201014 yr wow i left in the bottom of the second and it was 4-2....come back expecting it to be in the late innings and couldnt believe robertson went 6 innings after that. what pisses me off even more is that we were able to shut them down and still didnt score.....all of their runs were with two outs. bad game. and then braves and phillies each win by 1. back to 4 games out.
May 20, 201014 yr Ross and Maybin were both out on one pitch in the top of the 9th. Next batter, walks. We could've had a better approach at the plate
May 20, 201014 yr Probably wouldn't have made a difference, but I would've pinch hit Paulino instead of Helms. There's a better chance Paulino ties the game with one swing. The loss was expected, and we got what was expected. Hopefully we can win the series in Chicago.
May 20, 201014 yr We should've had better ABs to get Wainwright out after 5 or 6 innings, the first swing outs were annoying in that regard. We beat the Cardinals yesterday due to getting to that middle relief bullpen, we could've done it again, but Wainwright got it to the setup man who got it to the closer and... we lost. Coming out of St. Louis at 1-1 is pretty good though, but we need to win the series in Chicago against the White Sox who are 16-23 on the year and 4-6 in their last 10.

We've been killing it in interleague play and the White Sox aren't very good right now so I like the chances.

Wainwright is their number 2 I think against our number 5. When a 1 or a 2 plays a 4 or a 5, you are at a disadvantage. Obviously winning those games are what separates a great team from a mediocre team. The fact that Robertson was able to go 6 and save the bullpen after his first couple of innings is a win in itself.
