hahaha guys dont look now but jose veras seems to be settling in (2 runs in his last 12 innings with 12 strike outs and just 2 walks). and i have no idea why hector luna has not been called up to help off the bench. get rid of bonifacio instead.

He's probably next in line, but he's someone who potentially could help if he finds his control.

As for Luna. Meh

as a matter of fact i would do this:

barden down...luna up

strickland down.....badenhop up

Buente down........Veras up.

Wood down.....Pinto brought back

bonifacio down.....carroll up.

Sosa down.....hensley reinstated.

thoughts?

I was actually joking around with my dad, while Sosa was on the mound, and said: "What's next, we're gonna callup Jose Veras again?"

luna is sure as hell better than barden or bonifacio....though i like bardens defense he doesnt play enough to make a huge difference.

I doubt Bonifacio gets called down for anyone less then B.C., Peterson or Maybin.

I wouldn't mind calling up Luna for Barden or Lamb.

I'm not bringing Luna up, he's not that good with the bat or the glove. Though, if I do bring him up, it's for Lamb, not Barden. Though I don't mind keeping Boni instead of Barden if his glove has gotten better.

And yeah, I'd obviously take Pinto back but I don't think it's going to happen.

Oh, and lastly, I rather see Buente pitch every inning of every game than see Veras for one more pitch.

He's proven he can suck in the big leagues. He makes Andrew Miller look like Greg Maddux.

Not to mention he has a 1.747 WHIP with a 5.13 ERA in the minors this year. Yeah, he's been a bit better this month but that's not exactly a giant sample size.

you cannot stay hes not at least pitching better and quite frankly i trust him a lot more than scott strickland or jay buente

Veras is not good. We need the good Burke Badenhop back with the team. Not only is he a quality reliever when he's on, but he's a quality reliever, with the ability to give the team multiple innings in games. What I said about Matt Peterson on this thread, I can say about Jose Veras. He's just another scrub.

We have a decent or good bullpen when Pinto, Badenhop, Tankersley(LOOGY), Hensley, Sanches and Nunez are fine and healthy but they haven't been for the most part and it's showing that guys like those are hard to replace.

He is pitching a bit better in the minor leagues but he's bad. I don't trust him at all.

At least after all the negativity surrounding last nights game we still have the opportunity to take both this weekend series and the season series against a very good Rays team
