That's almost always the case with these third party candidates who get virtually no contributions and no campaign to speak of. They have nothing better to do, find the money for the filing fee, and try to exploit the pulpit to try to get attention. There are tons of people like this running for office every year. And the 2 party system is doing an awesome job. I guess you're only talking about this guy in particular and not independents in general. At least I hope you are. I'm so fed up I'm tempted to not even vote anymore. Hopefully the internet will make it more likely that independants can win elections for major offices or seriously challenge in an election and at least scare the democrats and republicans. Although just because someone is independent doesn't mean they won't pull the crap the Democrats and Republicans are pulling.
August 3, 201016 yr I bet he gets more than 1% of the vote. That video took like 12 seconds to go insane viral and there are alot of undergraduates in Tennessee. Like close to 300,000 in public schools alone IIRC. They eat this kind of thing up.
August 4, 201016 yr Considering that I'm registered independent and have never voted for a candidate from one of the two major parties, I think you misunderstood my point. :lol Do you get less election crap in the mail and robot calls during election season being a registered independent?

August 7, 201015 yr For how much attention this guy got, he got hammered in the polls. Apparently the college kids did not eat this up. For the GOP primary he got 3,508 votes. That's less than 0.5% of the total. Most people would round that down to 0%. 3,500 isn't even that high for novelty races. Name recognition hardly helped this guy, if it all. Well, with what happened with Alvin Greene, I think some cringed at the thought of this guy with a position of power.
