What does it say when a World Series team needs a player released by a sub-.500 team to start the next season?

November 21, 200322 yr I think we should give Wilson Valdez a shot....he will prob hit this year no worse than .270 as he adjusts to major league hitting and the guy is an awesome basestealer and defender....and it saves some $$ for other needs too!!!
November 21, 200322 yr That "offense" you talk of was almost completely due to the "Coors" effect. home: .311avg/.892OPS away: .251/.656OPS and PPS certaily aint no Coors. I'll take a flier for league minimum.

November 21, 200322 yr There are better options, this is quite a stretch (a sad one too!). I like Reese if we were to go out and sign someone - could net a 1 year deal for $1-2MM for him. Gold glover too...
