How bad is traffic from the Miami to the stadium on a Friday afternoon? I'm going to the game (I'm from out of town) and will be leaving from around the airport area. When should I leave if I want to get there at around 6ish? Thanks.

Leave around 5 if you want to be safe. Also, take take the HOV lane on 95, should be cheap around that time and will definitely save you some time.

Is the HOV lane in Dade the one where you get charged for it's use? Here it's just you have to have 2 or more people in the vehicle. But I thought that was a set price, didn't change according to the time.

And I was wondering how that was going to work seeing no one needs Sun Pass in Dade any more.

Actually I misspoke, it's the Express Lane that you have to pay for and that the price fluctuates based on traffic

Why don't you need sun pass in dade anymore though? As far as I know the toll by plate option charges you a processing fee (on the turnpike).

Yeah, which is why you don't need a Sunpass. I mean, in the end using the Sunpass is cheaper but it's only $3 a month processing.

Sunpass tolls are cheaper also.

Just go to the ticket office.

Anybody willing to teleport me to Sunlife, give me tickets behind home-plate, and then teleport me back? I would be greatly appreciative.

Yeah, can I get that package too?

Sure ig you're willing to be test subjects for the teleportation system I'm working on.:p

Since they use also using the toll-by-plate system now, why don't you come up with a way to hide your license plate for a few seconds. They you can go on the Turnpike for free. If somebody made device that did that, it would be just as legal as radar detectors right?

Note: I got the the "You have posted more than the allowed number of quoted blocks of text" message so I don't know if the quotes are right.

I didn't know it fluctuated.

I didn't mean SunPass was obsolete, just that you didn't really need it anymore. But I really don't know how that works.

Apparently you Scots have a sense of humor.

Have you seen what they eat? Most of that was probably first concocted as a joke.

Awwww, cmon, man. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.

Anytime I went to or go to a different country I indulge in the local cuisine. No matter what my "American" tastes would dictate. Things that would make most Americans flinch can be very tastey. Fav saying....."I didn't travel 10,000 miles to eat a Big Mac."

No. It's called stealing. I would imagine that if you got pulled over for anything and the cop saw it you could get in deep trouble. Don't even think the cops won't know what to look for either. If you don't want to pay for the turnpike, take 95.

A few months ago I saw a special on the local news along these lines. Ways folks were trying to beat the system. One was a hatchback and when they went through the SunPass lanes a guy in the back would pop open the hatch and hold something over the plate. They got nailed.

I just see so many problems with this system.

What happens if they don't pay it? What happens if they want to contest it?

Just going by us, we use the turnpike and SunPass all the time. For work and for leisure times. Just going to and from the games for a season the tolls add up.

And another question. Dade charges to use their bridges/causeways. At least I know they do for the one going to Sea World (or whatever the name of that place is). Why don't they allow SunPass for those? Or maybe they do and I just didn't see the lane, but I sure was looking for one.

I assume he got nailed because there was cop nearby. Or some nearby driver snitched on him.

The Miami Seaquarium, which pre-dates Sea World. The Seaquarium opened in 1955 and Sea World San Diego (their 1st park) in 1964. Another little tidbit from their Wikipedia.........

From 1963 through 1967, 88 television episodes and two movies starring Flipper were filmed at Miami Seaquarium.

Iv kinda got lost in this convo. What was the "Have you seen what they eat?" comment referring to?

Not only can I not be present for the game itself, FSN is giving the Orlando Magics game in Gainesville instead of the Opening Day game... Talk about adding insult to injury.

Yeah, I don't see where that came from, either...

Could be haggis (spicy meat of dubious origin in a sheep's stomach) or deep fried Mars Bars (Milky Ways), I guess... :confused

I don't remember the specifics. But quite often I see Troopers parked near the SunPass lanes in this county.

Is it blacked out there?

If not, shouldn't you be able to watch it on Extra Innings?
