Bonifacio is 5'11", 200 lbs.

:lol

So all the sites are wrong?

Don't people understand that baseball players workout and have things called muscles? He's 200 lbs. :hammer

I think I'm going to not trust the judgment of the person who thinks this 6'4" guy is 230 pounds.

I think you have no idea what you're talking about.

Regardless of whether or not he's 230 pounds... there's actually a reason to say he's less than he looks.

But do remember, someone who is all muscle and someone who is all fat can weigh the same and look completely different.

And most of these guys are a lot more muscular than anybody on this board, so the "I'm 6'4" and barely weigh 200 pounds!" arguments are incredibly useless.

But I'll say this; there's not a chance in hell that Jose Ceda weights 230 pounds. That's a dude with a lot of fat and a lot of muscle.

Right, but what I'm saying is they have a reason to report lower numbers for Jose Ceda. Otherwise, he'd likely not be allowed to play (which is exactly what happened).

There's no reason to lie about Emilio Bonifacio... it's not like the Marlins have a reason to impress somebody about how heavy Emilio is.

:lol

If Bonifacio weighs 200 pounds, I'm the queen of England. Get real.

I don't know about Boni being 200. He's only 5 pounds lighter than Uggla who's the same height or 5 pounds heavier than Jeter who has 3 inches on him? i guess maybe he could be. He is really fast so I imagine his legs are well built.

They were talking about this on MLBN and saying how guys lie about this all the time. Big guys saying they weigh less than they do and little guys adding weight. I think it was Mitch Willams who said he was 200 lbs when he was actually 175 or something.

and little guys adding weight

Exactly.

Kinda like that Dominican age thing.

He very well may not be 200 pounds.

But, you're being unecessarily dismissive with zero evidence.

Anyone got Boni's e-mail address?

Let's have him get on a scale and inform us of the result.

He very well may not be 200 pounds.

But, you're being unecessarily dismissive with zero evidence.

Zero? Really?

Your eyeballs don't lie by more than 5 or 10 pounds. Even you don't see 200. Nor does anyone else in their right mind.

Except not at all like that.

Players lie about all sorts of stuff for all sorts of reasons.

He very well may not be 200 pounds.

Except that you think it's laughable that JJ is 250, and you think Jose Ceda is 230. So you're not proving your point very well here.

Are you suggesting Bonifacio weighs himself and then reports this information to the Marlins?

He's only 5 pounds lighter than Uggla

Precisely.

Popeye is built like a brick sh!thouse at 205. He's short, but that's a believable weight for Uggla.

Bonifacio is a wisp compared to Uggla. 170 tops. He's no 100 pound weakling, but he's nothing remotely close to Uggla.

See this is my question. Sure back in the day I bet guys did that but now? I am sure they are not watching Boni's weight closely like say Ceda though.

Yeah but the Marlins all have their physicals before the season and they report those statistics. It's not something Bonifacio can fake unless he's paying off the doctor. Which isn't happening.

Except that you think it's laughable that JJ is 250, and you think Jose Ceda is 230. So you're not proving your point very well here.

OK, I didn't give much thought to Ceda, he's a fat guy. I'll concede that. Maybe he is actually 270, but I doubt it.

Doesn't change the fact that JJ is nowhere near 250, and Bonifacio is nowhere near 200.

Here is an article about Pedrioa. He is listed at 5'9 180, haha.

There has been a lot of speculation about Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia's height.

Pedroia is officially listed by Major League Baseball as 5'9", 180 pounds.

When he stands next to David Ortiz (6'4", 280 lbs) he looks more like a little guy.

Well check out the supplied article photo.

Peter Schiller of Baseball Reflections was able to meet the 2008 American League Most Valuable Player last Saturday at the Salem 5 in North Andover and got his picture taken along with five of his six kids.

Schiller informed me that he stands at 5'5" and three-quarters of an inch. As you can see from the photo, Pedroia is not much taller.

It looks like he can't be taller than 5'7", but looks as if he's only 5'6", 5'6-1/2".

As for weight, well, we'll never exactly know about that one.

Thanks to Peter for supplying the photo.

Josh Johnson is two inches taller than Mike Stanton who weighs 237. You're wrong.

Except that you think it's laughable that JJ is 250, and you think Jose Ceda is 230. So you're not proving your point very well here.

So you're eyes and memory were deceiving you on one guy, to the tune of about 40 pounds, but on all the rest, you're 100% an and totally deserving of the condescending tone you've taken with anyone who dare disagree. Got it. If you're going to talk down to everyone like they're idiots and you're some expert on knowing how much every single person weighs by seeing them on TV and from 100 feet away, you should at least stay consistent and not admit that you were completely talking out of your ass in at least one instance. Try to maintain some credibility.

JJ is a gigantic human being. He's 6'7" and he's absolutely not skinny. You're way off.
