February 27, 201214 yr HUGE win. If they go 9-7 with no bad losses and several good wins, they should have a really good shot. 2 more wins between NC State, BC, and the ACC tourney should make them a lock. But I'm not sure they have any chance to make it out of the first weekend without Reggie. I hope I'm wrong.
February 29, 201214 yr Reggie Johnson reinstated in time for the NC State game. Win these last 2 and they are in for sure; 2/3 should do it; 1/3 makes it a nail-biter.
March 1, 201214 yr I can't take the pressure. Hurricanes blew two huge opportunities after the steal and the 2 missed free throws. They have themselves to blame if they lose here. 12.3 seconds left.
March 1, 201214 yr Game over basically. Bad loss. Now they definitely need to beat BC and probably win in the 1st round of the ACC tourney to have a shot. No idea why the heck he chucks up a 3 with 6 seconds left and a man on top of him. I guess Scott was trying to draw the foul.
March 1, 201214 yr Scott is an idiot, Grant is a bigger idiot. Please leave already, you're costing the team a chance at a tourney bid.
March 1, 201214 yr It feels sometimes like they think they have to live up to their hype, instead of just accepting that they aren't worldbeaters and playing within their means.
March 4, 201214 yr Author New Mexico co-MWC champs along with SDSU. It was a rocky path but they got there.
March 5, 201214 yr Canes will be the 6 seed in the ACC tourney. Georgia Tech then FSU. GT blows and I like our chances against FSU on a neutral court. Win and we're in IMO.

March 9, 201214 yr Tomorrow night at 9. Make or break time. The good news is that Northwestern lost, Seton Hall lost, and USF will hopefully lose, so they should definitely pass some off those bubbles teams with a win vs. FSU.
March 9, 201214 yr There's no way they don't get in with a win vs FSU. And holy sh*t, Georgia Tech is bad!
March 9, 201214 yr There's no way they don't get in with a win vs FSU. And holy sh*t, Georgia Tech is bad! Yeah, everything would have to fall completely perfectly, and they might even miss then, too. But if they win, I feel like they should get in. That would give them 3 really good wins, and considering the sheer mediocrity on the bubble, that ought to be enough along with 9/11 ACC wins.
March 9, 201214 yr 1 great win, 2 good wins, 9-7 conference record. And the selection committee may take into account Reggie and DeQuan Jones missing time early in the season.
March 9, 201214 yr Good point about Reggie/Dequan. That would have been an easier argument to make if they beat NC State, though. That was a really bad blown lead for what it meant to their season and tourney hopes.
March 10, 201214 yr Can't believe Scott was suspended. I wonder if Frank Haith will get hit with anything?
March 10, 201214 yr Can't believe Scott was suspended. I wonder if Frank Haith will get hit with anything? I don't know, but I am rooting so hard for FSU and Mizzou to make early exits. Screw those guys. Duke better destroy FSU tomorrow.
March 10, 201214 yr Author UNM vs San Diego State tonight for the MWC tourney championship. Should be a hell of a game. UNM/UNLV was a battle last night. Drew Gordon cannot be stopped on offense. A BIG thankyou to Ben Howland!
March 11, 201214 yr Author Best team in the Mountain West. Time to do some damage in the big tourney!
March 12, 201214 yr You know what's worse than watching FSU knock out Miami? Watching them knock out Duke the day after. And then watching them knock out your wife's team (UNC), who you actually rooted for for once. Ugly few of college b-ball days. Hopefully Duke makes a deep run and FSU has an early exit to help ease the pain.
March 12, 201214 yr All I gotta say is: GO GATORS!!! I know they probably won't go very far this year but with a great coach & some streaky players ya never know...
