February 16, 201214 yr Who do you guys think will be the five guys guys on the becnh this year?? My guess is: Catcher: Brett Hayes 1B/3B: Gregg Dobbs INF: Donnie Murphy OF: Chris Coghlan OF: Aaron Rowand Bryan Peterson? Scott Cousins? Austin Kears? Nick Green?
February 16, 201214 yr Since Coghlan isn't arbitration eligible, I don't see the problem with keeping him in the minors for depth purposes and for the possibility that he may regain some semblance of form. Petersen should be considered a lock and will hopefully platoon against a decent chunk of right handed pitching from the start. Bonifacio has always been much better as a right handed hitter, but I suspect the Marlins will start out giving him 80% of the starts in light on the contract. I also don't understand the Marlins attachment to Murphy. Though its not the first time they've had an unreasonable attachment to a player.
February 16, 201214 yr I've yet to figure out how Murphy is on any MLB roster, let alone the Marlins because of 2 at bats 2 years ago
