Post Game 6/15

The worst part of this is I can predict almost every single game right now. In either the first inning or the second, we'll have a golden opportunity to score first either with a double/triple or some decent baserunning. It falls through with either a series of strikeouts, popouts, or other such weak crap. In the same time frame, the opponent has what seems to be a soft inning. There are one or two quick outs. Then..... something small happens. A walk. A single. Something like that. Then the baserunner takes second. All the inning needs is a quick out and no harm, no foul. Instead, there's another base hit and the runner scores. Then there's another hit. And another. And maybe even another until it's a 2-3 run lead and the starter's thrown WAY more than he should have.

The score holds for a couple innings. The key is the Marlins batters are out quickly and the starter barely gets 3 minutes to rest. The starter most nights can hold until the 5th or 6th (Not tonight, obviously), but then they reach their buckling point and surrender a couple more runs. But WAIT, the batting's doing something! There's multiple baserunners and all there needs to be is ONE KEY HIT and they're back in the game! It goes to pot. Then all the air goes out of the balloon, the relief pitchers bleed a run an inning or something and MAYBE the batting can finally plate a run. *A* run. Then the game mercifully ends.

This is almost every night. And rarely is the pattern changing right now. It's painful. It's like Groundhogs Day. Or, more accurately, like that one episode of the X-Files where a bank robbery goes wrong and the building blows up, and everyone keeps re-living it (At least sometimes in Groundhogs Day, Bill Murray got laid). I don't know what needs to be done, but they need to do SOMETHING. Learn, adjust, scout, fire, I don't give a f***. This team needs a shaking large enough to wake them the hell up.

also Chad Gaudin has been terrible.

I think that we all should have seen that coming. Gaudin has a terrible track record in the major leagues.

He's not great but if not for those 2 out walks he goes 5 much needed innings and just 2 runs.

i really really REALLY hope the FO isn't hanging onto Eduardo just because his daddy is part of the organization.....i have a sinking feeling that's the case...i realize eduardo doesn't have the bat in his hands but who has improved since he's started his position? bonifacio? i have a feeling that was more of a trader jack thing where he was finally just freed up to do his thing on the basepaths and it relaxed him more than any hitting style (he still hits more fly balls than someone with his speed should be doing)

Kind of agree. Never really like seeing him put the ball in the air. But quite a few of those stat fly balls are really nothing more than little bloopers over the IFers heads and line drives that just clear the IF. By my defintion, not really fly balls. But my defintion is somewhat different than the official one. I would say I don't like to see him swinging away. He's not a slugger, so don't try to be one.

Maybe. You have absolutely no way of proving this. So you're definitely making it up.

We went to Applebee's the first time in a long time hoping to enjoy dinner with the game. The bar area had ALL THE TVs on NEWS or GOLF. We asked to go there but they put us with the LITTLE TVs and said baseball was on. Nada. It was either a minor baseball game or European--too far away to see. and GOLF.

Soooooooooooooo only one local team playing and NOT on tv.

But...............but...............but they knew better :swoon

Funny stuff. When the power goes out for an extended period around 7-8 PM, I head to TGIF at 196th and Biscayne. Not a "sports" bar, but their 6 or so screens all always seem to have sports on them. Last three times over the last few years I've have had to ask them to put the Marlins game on at least one screen. They always oblige.

Not a horrible deal. Half-price appetizers and a liberal happy-hour. One could do worse while waiting for Florida Flicker and Flash to fix a blown transformer.

I kept checking my phone and actually glad we weren't watching on the BIG screen, lol. I could ignore small one like being able to turn off the tv :tv_horror :confused
