Just bullshit that catchers can't prevent that run from scoring anymore. I'm sure Mathis would rather the 1 in 100 chance he breaks his leg than just let that run to score.

It wasn't a bad decision. Just a lot of analyzing after the result. No one says anything if the pussies don't get another bloop hit in their favor. Morris has been lights out.

 

If he was going to take him out after a bloop hit, he should have just let Morris start the inning. It's not the worst move we've seen from Redmond, but switching a best-start-of-the-year Eovaldi for anyone is a wash at best.
