Piazza31
We can't protest a review, but the Rays sure can. Maybe Maddon is just the smartest guy in the room. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/91044678/rays-protest-game-after-blue-jays-win-challenge

Guest Vince0926
Yup, easily. I agree. Mike lowell made a good comment on mlb. Mlb cant be selective on who gets advantages on rules or protests. Yet again leads me to that stupid call at home. Game should be restarted in the seventh. And as far as this game, it should be restarted in the fourth. Guest Vince0926
Mlb said it will take a few business days for them ti decide this mess. Wait what? MLB has business days? Absolutely retarded.
SongInTheAir
Interesting to see what develops here. The Rays are right that the review shouldn't have been allowed, but at the same time the call was wrong and the review fixed it. Allowing the protest to stand would require MLB to say they're allowing the incorrect call to stand. Not allowing the protest to stand means saying that the rules made around review timing are insignificant. Either way, someone is going to be pissed, and rightly so. Wild Card
Well, you would think that if a team should not have been able to review it, the results of said review should be null and void and the original call should stand regardless of whether it was right or wrong. You could also argue that the umps were at fault for allowing the review, and the results should stand but the umps should be penalized. IDK what I would do if I were the league, honestly. Admin
The call on the field should stand because it shouldn't have went to replay. It's not important what the replay showed.
SilverBullet
How has this not be decided upon yet? It takes three minutes to watch the video and clearly see what happened. The procrastination on making this official is ridiculous. Especially when the Giants protest last week of the Cubs tarp/rain delay issue was resolved within 24 hours. SongInTheAir
Wow. Can't wait for the explanation on this one. "Because...uhhh...integrity...uhhh...the rules."
Guest Vince0926
This explanation is so easy. Rays vs. Blue jays, 2 al east teams. These two are in the same division as yankees. Joe torre managed the yankees. Joe torre loves the yankees. Tampa bay maybe poses a bigger threat to the yankees than blue jays. Solve the problem by giving rays the loss. They slip further out of the wild card race, thus allowing tampa bay to call up minor leaguers or play weaker players more often, thus losing to yankees more. Mlb : where the conspiracists run the show. If this was giants, sure it would be upheld. Giants have nothing to do with the yankees.
SilverBullet
"Because...uhhh...integrity...uhhh...the rules." I know what youre saying but even if it was "the rules" the rules clearly say the review shouldnt have happened.

Totally on your side. Just trying to give my prediction of MLB's bullshit reasoning.

Piazza31
MLB doesn't even follow their own rules. Pete Rose for Commisioner. Joe Torre for Secretary of the Gambling Public.
Wild Card
Well, I'm fine with this call if they publicly admit the umps screwed up in the first place by allowing the replay to happen and something comes of it. Someone needs to be held accountable.
