December 7, 200322 yr poor guy. who can blame him? all he'll probably get with us is ONLY $7 or $8 million a year. the ring he'll pick up in April is nice, but seriously how do you expect the man to work for slave wages? :plain
December 7, 200322 yr hes not going to get 10 mill a year for 5 years...why dosent he understand that?
December 7, 200322 yr The Florida Marlins entice Pudge with more money http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=1928568
December 7, 200322 yr i say this is the best deal for everyone. $7.5 mil in 2004 and 2005, $8.5 mil in 2006 and 2007 but only as mutual options by Pudge and the Marlins both years.
December 7, 200322 yr Latest Report from ESPN.com is that the Marlins increased the dollar amount but remains commited to two years. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1680725 Indications are that the Marlins increased the dollars over their previous offer, but not the structure, Stark reports. Now, less than 6 hours to go . . . . . .
December 7, 200322 yr An unbelievable amount of greed must be absorbed by Pudge in a rejection of the Marlins' offers!
December 7, 200322 yr An unbelievable amount of greed must be absorbed by Pudge in a rejection of the Marlins' offers! i know!!!!!!! pudge better sign!!!!
December 8, 200322 yr If he resigns tonight will we find out tonight? or am i just wasting my time planning on staying up until 12
December 8, 200322 yr I think right when/if it happens it will be shot out by the Fish, reported on the news, and someone here will suck it up and post it. Similar to what happened with Luiy.
December 8, 200322 yr Yea, when it happens, it will be reported immediately, mainly so the newspapers can get it in on time.
December 8, 200322 yr It would seem decisions related to offering contracts and/or arbitration to the remaining players is dependent upon Pudge's status. There must be a whirlwind of activity in the Marlins FO as we speak. I can't imagine how they can get all this filed by the stroke of midnight.
December 8, 200322 yr I can't imagine how they can get all this filed by the stroke of midnight. It doesn't need to be filed. BUT, both parties must consent on a deal by 11:59 PM tonight.
December 8, 200322 yr Anyone recall statement by someone on Boras team...about 2 weeks ago... that they thought it was unbelieveable that the FO had yet contacted Boras with an offer....that Pudge was going to be out of communication while he sailed the Caribbean.... Guess satellite phones work quite. Certainly well enough for Pudge to sit in a conference calls all weekend.
