What team has the third longest playoff drought in MLB?

Featured Replies

Holla holla Miami Marleeeeeens.

This is a big off season for Loria and his puppets.

I will remain very cautiously optimistic.

Who has longer? Trying to think. Let's go through divisions ...

Nationals - 2014

Braves - 2013

Mets - 2006

Phillies - 2011

Marlins - 2003

Cardinals - 2014

Pirates - 2013

Brewers - 2011

Reds - 2012

Cubs - 2008

Dodgers - 2014

Giants - 2014

Diamondbacks - 2011

Padres - 2005

Rockies - 2009

Red Sox - 2013

Yankees - 2012

Rays - 2013

Orioles - 2014

Blue Jays - 1993 [ok there's one]

White Sox - 2005

Twins - 2010

Indians - 2013

Royals - 2014

Tigers - 2014

Athletics - 2013

Angels - 2014

Astros - 2005

Rangers - 2012

Mariners - 2001 [there's the other]

Off the top of my head, too. Go me. :lol

I don't care about stats like this unless it's something extreme like the Cubs not having a championship in a trillion years. There's so many facts unrelated to anything current. I mean it's not Stanton, Fernandez, and Henderson Alvarez' fault that we didn't make the playoffs in 2004-12... There's just no real connections besides the name of the team itself. Stats like this are fun trivia things but they mean nothing to me. Like the Royals clinching last night for the first time since 85 is a cute thing for espn but nobody on this Royals team cares or needs to even think about that.

Not making the playoffs for over 10 years should be unacceptable to fans of any baseball team.

I dont like the fact it's been so long but it's not the fault of anyone wearing our uniform. You can definitely say the front office is responsible for it but I just can't care about it on a day to day basis. It's way too much dwelling on the past.

Agreed, but this is what happens when you have chronic mismanagement

Ownership has not changed. They do a great job of screwing up player management decisions which has radically contributed to the drought.
