Annoying loss.  Harper is unreal.  This team needs a few more pieces to chase a wild card spot.  If Ozuna isn't gonna be a 25 HR power guy and Morse is regressing after last year, this team desperately needs one more middle of the order power bat even with Yelich back.  this team also desperately needs one more reliable bullpen arm.   Way too much Dunn, Dyson, and morris.

We got Capps and Wittgren rotting away in the minors

I'm with you. Ozuna needs to find his ducking power stroke already. He hasn't looked good at all lately and without his power we are not going to be able to put games away

Capps is nothing special.   Wittgren is a guy I've been keeping track of for a few years now.  We need to start developing our non prospect pitchers better as relievers.  Its been awhile since we developed our own guy rather then trading assets for relief pitchers.

Stanton - yeah he homered. but man....guy looks completely lost. that's why I say hes not a good hitter. seems like 90% of the time, he is flailing or the new thing (popping up) and the other 10% he jacks one out. he is just not a good hitter......you don't allow a homer to one guy 3 times, UNACCEPTABLE....you had the closer on the ropes and our 3 and 4 hitters look like assholes....just another tough loss, just like Monday. and that's why resting Gordon and/or prado on sunday is a piece of shit disaster in the making.

Yeah Vince, the dude with 900OPS is "not a good hitter". Okay pal, you sure know your baseball.

Maybe they should swap Adeiny and Stanton in the order. I can see you being into that.

he is lost at the plate. not only me that sees it.

then whats your opinion of ozuna batting 4th and he doesn't even have a homer? yelich needs to bat third and move everyone down. why do you need to be harsh? you and I don't even play for the team, who cares what we think?

Just because you and a few other goons who don't believe in stats think Stanton is "lost" doesn't make it true.

swinging at gibberish sliders and never laying off of them for FIVE YEARS?? yeah, id say he is lost. sometimes, no. he can mash. but MORE OFTEN then not, I already know the outcome.

Sheer hr totals don't fully explain why Ozuna needs to be moved down or we need to find a middle of the order power hitter, his complete lack of all extra base hits is pretty pathetic thus far as well.  He used to be a guy who had trouble making contact and now he is getting on base at a higher clip but at the expense of higher slugging.  We really need him to develop into a power hitter quickly.

As good as Stantons numbers may seem he isn't playing as well as he was last year. He's swinging at way too many horrible pitches and it's a glaring weakness that's going to be exploited. He needs to make adjustments.

And he will make adjustments and then everyone will shut up. Same thing happened last year at some point. He's still hitting quite well (1 WAR through 120abs or whatever), but lower than his career #s in those abs this year (he is coming off a face smash afterall). The dude has a history of awesomeness and he's still OPSing close to 900. He's also still just 25. I don't understand why guys on this board get on him while ignoring the real problem: our pitching.

Stanton really needs to lay off that slider away. I am also now officially concerned with Ozuna, he doesn't provide much without his power.

People complaining about Stanton is because of the new contract. Higher standards when you have the largest contract in sports history. As for the pitching, it's a matter of perspective. We've somehow managed to be right around .500 without our 1 and 2 pitchers. I'm actually pleasantly surprised. The pen is where moves need to be made to improve.

It's the same people that have always complained about Stanton here because he strikes out 26% of the time.

I agree and think it's pretty incredible we're only 2 games under .500 with this pitching staff. Pen hasn't helped much either. Wouldn't mind seeing some fresh blood there.

you sign a $325 million contract, then expectations better be high. all I have been saying is to lay off the sliders. he can't adjust to it. never has been. everyone on this board cant be that optimistic about his at bat when he has two strikes, can you? Im highly surprised he homered on 2 strikes. that was an act of god. but very next at bat in the 9th, did anyone expect the same result?

Pitching failed us today, not offense.

If I was red, I would put prado at the 4th when yelich is back.. if yelich struggles then switch him with hech

speaking of offense, will bour replace morse? he must have had 5 hits this series.

I think morse should be at lf while ozuna and ichiro get a couple of days off.

Morse is a proven hitter, too early to give up on him

I think morse should play on every game in san francisco
