The Harvey situation

Featured Replies

What do you think should happen?

im all for giving him breathers and when he pitches he should be allowed only 6 innings per start to keep him fresh. Bad thing is while there is a short time left (4 weeks), it is FOUR WEEKS left and plenty can happen. Mets need to do their part and win as much as they can while he is sitting.

give them ozuna for him!

Good trade. That way Ozuna and Tejada can talk about how they're the only two players in the history of baseball to be kept in the minors longer for arbitration purposes.

Playoffs are the ultimate goal. I understand the long term future is incredibly important, but a doubt a few more innings is gonna hurt him, especially when those innings are gonna be vitally important.

I don't understand why managers don't just take the guy out of the rotation or have him work relief for the rest of the season if they want to limit the inning count and basically have a playoff birth at hand. No reason to run Harvey out for 6 innings in games that likely won't make a difference in the final standing.

Just make Harvey a reliever and he can pitch in 3 DS games vice 1
