April 28, 201610 yr Draft is tonight, so figured it was appropriate to start the upcoming seasons thread. Who's the guy we take first? I'm hoping to trade with CLE and grab Elliott if the cowboys don't get him. If not then go after Eli Apple, I keep hearing talks about Conklin, although our Oline isn't great, we need to get a surefire guy to play the backfield with Maxwell. Oh and draft a QB in the late rounds. Call in Fieldler and Pennington to work with just him, because Tannekill is a lost cause. Heres to another 8-8 season!!!!
April 28, 201610 yr Author I thought I was going to start this thing, but 8-8 is reaaaally optimistic. That's like...my level of optimism for the Marlins optimistic. 7-9, 8-8, 6-10 one of those. Enough to not get a top 10 pick, like usual.
April 28, 201610 yr Author I figure we'll win five outright, and then we'll have 1-3 spontaneous good games as we usually do, so nice prediction. Such a shame. All we needed was two decent guards to win 10-12 games... Curious what they do about the RB situation. I say just give Ajayi the nod, draft one in the 4-5, and sign a few FA. Approach it how the Pats do it. On the downfall, Tannehill can't rely on a RB, has to pass more, OLine collapses, Tannehill sacked. Upside, Tannehill sacked, broken rib cage, new QB? Ok maybe that was a little mean. Lets see how Gase handles him, but I'm at 98% lost hope for him.

My only issue is this team doesn't have a great veteran presence to steer him the right way. Especially on the OLine who'd he hang with the most? Besides Branden Albert? But a great great pick at 13, went from possible 1 overall to us, I'm good with that.

April 30, 201610 yr Author Fins grab CB Xavien Howard (Baylor) in the 2nd, and RB Kenyon Drake (Bama) in the 3rd. Two solid picks, Howard will fit new DC Vance Joseph 4-3 scheme well, Baylor played the press and that's what Joseph wants to implement. And Drake is a shifty RB, versatile and a good guy for check downs, which Tannehill loves to toss. So far I'm liking this draft, which I haven't been able to say in a while.
April 30, 201610 yr Author Dolphins finished up last night with WR Leonte Carroo (Rutgers), Fins traded up to grab him. Possession WR, I read somewhere he had only one dropped pass in college. A big target for Tannekill. The rest of the draft continues today's, fins have a 5th and two 7ths.
April 30, 201610 yr Only pick I'm iffy about is that Howard pick. Not too much a fan of drafting a defender from the ever-so-terrible Baylor defense. Don't those guys get passed all over, all the time? As for the RB pick, would've preferred Derrick Henry.
