Because the way baseball works is that you trust your talent to break out of the slump. Just like he did at the beginning of the season and then he went on a tear that helped the team win 11 of 12 games.

Bench him for 5 games to start Ichiro, that's a huge downgrade. This team is not going to do anything if Stanton doesn't hit so you have to hope he snaps out of it soon as he's done before in his career.

You know we are not afford to lose more games due to waiting for his come back.

I just can't image how bad it would be.

It's okay. He will be supported here even if he strikes out 100 times in the next 40 games.

I think nobody said he can't had a slump, every player got the slump but the point was what you do in the slump,I think we can push back his batting order to take some pressure out of him,and I am a little afraid that he would develop to a home run or nothing hitter in the future.

You know what ? I am really think Yelich and Ozuna would got the much better chance than Stanton to develop to the type of hitters that more balanced and consistent.

I personally think Stanton would be great for football. Maybe he's just not a baseball player. Maybe this isn't what is made for him. That injury in 2014 could be a reason why he doesn't move closer to the plate. Again, good guy, not a real good baseball player. He will break out of his slump and it will likely be for a short period of time.

I put forward as much hate as anyone on here regarding Stanton recently. But at this point, moving him down in the line up is a short term plan with the a low reward. Stanton slumping isn't the entire reason we lost tonight, or the last few games. He's going to bounce back, and with the make up of this line up, he has to be the #4 hitter. Ozuna/Bour may get a couple more opportunities with RISP, but Stanton isn't going to be pitched any differently if he is moved down. It's not going to magically fix his slump. And when he does figure it out, we will want him in the 4 hole.

My main issue is that he is not of the Joey Votto mold or even a Christian Yelich mold of working the count and getting the pitch he is looking for. Because when he guesses correct, he can hit them as far as anyone. This, in my opinion, is the biggest difference in him, and a guy like Harper. Harper is a mix between Yelichs strengths with pop that rivals Giancarlo's. Chris Davis and Nelson Cruz are two guys I have compared him to, in terms of general production. Both of these guys have had stints like Stantons and have proved to have a strong impact toward their respective teams. He will bounce back.

With that said, this line up wouldn't be bad at all if/when it is determined he needs a day off.

His inability to not swing and miss at outside and down pitches may said something about this.

He gets lucky once and awhile, the fact is he has terrible eye for the ball, looks like an amateur somethings with those miss swings, Thats non sustainable

These guys are supposed to be professionals. If he has a terrible eye (which I agree with you) then he has no business making the type of money he does. What is the point of spring training if things are not figured out in late May.

I got a new job for Stanton: batboy. this way, unless he misses to pick up the bat, he can be pretty good at his job.
