Lol wat. So by that logic Adrian Gonzalez is a failed Marlins pick too right? By logic I mean nonsense.

he proved to be a good MLB player, but Moran just not yet.

And Mike Hill was a good front office man with Beinfest getting what they could out of the resources he had. We consistently built a decent bullpen from nothing and had top farm systems. Things fell apart in 2012. He took some calculated risks that failed in 2015 and here we are. Shit happens and he should've been gone but he's not a bad GM. Although I imagine a ton of fans believe they can do his job twice as good as him.

I should be in charge of the Marlins, tbh.

I would have found a way to get this team into the playoffs at least once in the last 12 years, even with no budget to work with.

Hard to do so when you are forced to trade guys before a payday and can't draft certain guys bc of money limitations. I do believe they've failed and have made poor choices, but let's not pretend there hasn't been an anchor attached for a while.

This is why all fans get categorized into one type. Bc of stuff like this.

Right because all MLB players come from rounds 1-3 of the MLB draft where the big money often is right?

welp, these guys are professionals. $325 million and really it doesn't equal his home run production. I cant even remember the last time he even got a single, which would have made a bridge for a rally. if Stanton singled in the 4th, the game would be 4-2 because of ozuna's homer. he's hurting the team and if he can't get the advice from bonds or mattingly, then maybe you need to send him down for a week or two. you need to shake this guy up.

HE'S MAKING 9 MILLION THIS YEAR!

Even the PROFESSIONAL not the best, you should know this with your intelligence.

70% of first round picks reach the majors. 49% in Rd 2 and 35% in Rd 3-5. There's a big drop off after that.

There are a good deal of mlb players outside the top rounds, but the value is in making sure ur top picks are the right ones.

People will keep throwing out that 325 number when the real deal is 6 yrs 106 mil. But nobody cares to actually read up on things here.

Ya and the Marlins have failed in all levels of the draft consistently since 2005.  Its horrid.  You cant blame all that on signability alone.

Unless:

a) Stanton gets hurt

b) Stanton becomes shit

c) The market collapses

In any of those cases it then becomes a 325 million deal and the Marlins are fucked.

I mean of our current starters we drafted realmuto (Rd 3), Stanton (Rd 2) Yelich (Rd 1). Also should include guys like Fernandez, Conley, and Ramos among a few others. Not a great record but definitely some hits in there

so it's why his performance was acceptable !?

Not but it's fucking stupid to keep throwing the 325 number out there. This year, he's making $9 million. That's $2 million less than we're paying Jarrod Saltalamacchia to play for another fucking team. $9 million in MLB is nothing.

6 of 25 players.  Fantastic.

This is why fans aren't in charge of front office decisions. Because they are irrational and dumb.

youre not allowed to worry about what I say, dad.

Yes, and just like all the trades made in 2015 was a calculated risk that could fail horribly. But the PR of him leaving would've been bad, he is 25 when starting the deal which limits chance of failure and if he succeeds there was always a chance of trading him as he got older. It was a well structured deal for a team that expects new ownership in 5 yrs.

I honestly can't tell if you're trolling anymore. The other comment read sincere, but this one reeks of 100% troll

900 foot home runs. 0 extra base hits (double or triple), barely singles, doesn't hustle ground balls. I'm not sure whats the problem.

Well current drafting has been bleh and I agreed I was just listing some successes. 2003-2008 is the time period the Marlins put together a solid farm system that let them hold their 2006 fire sale.

I believe the fans you mean not including you because you're so SMART,but honestly some front office guys were really doing their job like a FAN,like Mike Hill, right ?

Dim and Das Texan know everything. they should run the team.
