CapeFish
no, the Marlins don't play in the NL central because if they did, baseball in SoFla would have many more division titles. The NL East is better and more competitive, can't get any better than having 5 teams potentially be near or above .500.

Cape why are you arguing over nonsense? the Cubs are the creme of the crop in the Central, why are you arguing about the Marlins?

rferry
nl central coming up. Cubs creme of crop, yet they had the worst record of the 4 NL playoff teams and I believe the AL teams as well. 4th? Try 5th if there was a balanced schedule. The Phillies would have ended up with a better record than them. And the winner of the AL Central would have not have won 82 games.

Foulke is offered a big deal so you wave goodbye to Boonitez? The market for closers will shoot up through the roof if Foulke indeed signs for $7M. So, unless Benitez wants tosign for below market value or Beinfest wants to sacrifice too much of the available payroll then yeah we can count out Benitez coming to Miami. If we can sign Benitez before the Red Sox sign Foulke, which is likely to happen if the other teams in the Foulke sweepstakes hold that up and the Fish swoop in on Benitez like it has been said would happen, then we can escape with a cheap reliever.
