June 29, 201610 yr Author Because its a bad pitch for him, having another pitch is a negative if you can't use it properly. Now he can focus on the pitches that are useful for him. It's really interesting ,just like a guy hurts self by improperly used of nunchakus,but seriously if one pitch was really hurts a pitcher so bad why need so long time to know it ? the catcher,the coach even the pitcher self should knows it early,and if only need to stop throwing some pitch then why need to demote him,why not just tell him this stuff by pitching coach or manager ?but anyway,if it really works then Nico would be a really lucky guy,because most pitchers would need to add pitchs to be better but he only needs to stopping throwing one.
June 29, 201610 yr I don't get all of Hech bashing here. SS has traditionally been a defense first position. He improve the last two seasons with the bat. His average is down this year but he has hit a lot of line drives that have been caught. He plays a great shortstop. Hech is the least of this teams problems. 5th starter is #1 and additional bullpen arm is #2. The rest of this offense has enough juice to score runs regardless of Hech. With that said I do expect his numbers to go up in the second half. Hech is a good fit here and he is also very affordable.
