As we all know he announced today that he'll play his final game with the Yanks on Friday. This is an unconditional release and Cashman stated A-Rod could play elsewhere if he wanted to. Who thinks we've seen the last of him? I bet some team gives him a chance... probably the Marlins.

The part about making him an instructor immediately after makes me think otherwise.

That's just a way of having him do something for the salary. Cashman said if A-Rod wants to play elsewhere and gets an offer, he's welcome to do it. He can also change his mind on being an instructor anytime he wants Cashman said. The instructor job doesn't begin til next ST if it ever does. He's gonna go home to Miami after Friday's game he said.

Ohh I thought the instructor thing was immediate. If it's not then that changes everything.

4 HR away from 700? Yeah he's not done. Seattle is probably calling him, or Miami waits til they drop out of the WC contention, Loria would love to add a "milestone" guy.

Why wait? He could probably replace Chris Johnson immediately.

Would not be shocked to see A-Rod on the fish bench by the end of the month. Before 8/31 for playoff eligibility.

Isn't he one of those guys that actually has a good relationship with Loria?

Yes, that's what I have read

He can't play the field and he has like a .150 average against pitches of 95mph+ which essentially would be what he would face as a pinch hitter against high powered relievers. No thanks.

Not saying they should sign him but I think they will sign him if he wants to play more.

Fuck it, sign him.
