August 30, 20179 yr Author Jeter must thinking a lot about how to improve this team… Hopefully he can improve the team but I don't think they keep Ozuna after the year. Resigning Ozuna and signing 2 top FA pitchers to go with Urena, Straily, Wei-Yin should be the priority. They should try to bring A-Rod/J-Lo for nothing else but Hollywood money.
August 30, 20179 yr Dispiriting performance in DC, but in truth they really had no chance of winning that series, so they lost an extra game over what was hoped for. Considering the Rockies were at home, and the Marlins had to face one of the top three teams in the game at their ball park, I'll take losing only one game in the standings to them. The key is whether they can right the ship right away against the Phillies. Looks like Peters will be going on Friday. At least we now know it will be the Rockies who the chase will be on to run down. The DBacks are on a tear and with Greinke, Ray and Corbin their pitching is too good for them to slide. So the hope is that they dominate the Rockies in their head to head and that the Dodgers get Kershaw and Bellinger back in time to take it to the Rockies as well. The Brewers have a challenging schedule and one has to hope the Nats go in there and do to them what they just did to us, though I'm sure it won't be in such dominating a fashion (as I would expect the Brewers at a minimum to show a pulse.....we didn't in DC). So lets keep hope alive.
August 31, 20179 yr Nationals are just plain better than us. Play well against the Phillies next and we're still in this because the DBacks and Rockies are gonna beat each other up while the Nats are gonna play the Brewers.

August 31, 20179 yr Knowing our luck, once the pitching gets hot, the bats will cool off It's not fair for our hitters to go with such a bad pitching staff (especially the rotation),I believe the good hitters and the good pitchers are "mutual benefit",hitters would with less pressure and perform better knowing they don't need to score a lot to win games and the pitchers the same in this theory.
