  1. This is bullshit. Joshua did nothing to deserve this callup. If it wasn't for Martin's injury he'd still be riding the bench in New Orleans. We're ashamed of him.
  2. You're being unrealistic thinking it's so easy to go buy this pitching you want them to get. Number 1, tell me 2 SP out there that they can afford to get. Number 2, how do you expect them to splurge on SP when they're in so much debt and are losing money every year with low attendance and their bad tv deal? And this has nothing to do with Jeter being cheap. It's simple math. If they're losing money how is it smart to add even more to the payroll without fixing the financial losses first? Your wishes for them are the same as if you were asking someone who's unable to pay their rent to go out and buy a new car tomorrow. Please explain this to me.
  3. When is Jeter gonna trade my son? He makes way too much money for how lame he is. Dump his salary asap please.
  4. Only one problem with that quote... Can't run the organization the way it's been run before??? THEN WHY IS MIKE HILL STILL THE GM????
  5. https://www.fanragsports.com/jeters-marlins-bid-may-be-voted-on-soon/ FYI Jeter will only own a 4% share of the team. Michael Jordan just half of one share. Sherman of course will be the control person with a 46% share. Also a COO will be hired to actually run the business side as Sherman has no baseball experience. It's amazing how little experience this entire group has. There's no guarantee any of this works out. It's a little scary how unknown the post-Loria era will be. We assumed it'd be only better things after Loria but I'm not convinced.
  6. If Mike Hill stays on this is probably our Opening Day starter next season.
  7. First of all, even if he decides to leave he doesn't forgo the contract. He gets that money no matter where he plays unless he opts out. Switching teams doesn't negate the contract. Secondly, there's also no guarantee that the team he gets traded to is gonna be an immediate winner either so there's always the chance he'd prefer to stay here, be the face of the franchise (yes, even in losing seasons, look at 2017 as a perfect example), and hopefully ride out the storm and still be here for the next good team. I mean, I know it's unlikely, but what if Jeter does figure this out fairly quickly and the team is good 2 to 3 years from now? Stanton is definitely young enough to still be a significant part of that. It's not all the same but look at Ryan Zimmerman being productive for the Nationals at age 32 after riding out their bad years in his twenties. Stanton could be similar. Again, I'm not saying all of this is likely but it's all more reasons why Stanton might not really mind staying.
  8. Excellent article... http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/article175185466.html
  9. Full no trade clause. It's not Jeters decision if Stanton goes. Never forget that.
  10. You know who's gonna be a reallllly good test for us to see how much of an idiot Jeter is? Perry Hill. If he fires Perry Hill that will tell me a lot.
  11. Lol awesome. Let me check the rates and get back to you.
  12. My joke was better.
  13. You gonna fly over here or you want us to fly over there? If you fly over here make sure to at least bring a pen with you.
  14. I disagree with this. Jeter wants to run the team and the reason he's with Sherman is that Sherman is ok with sitting back and letting Jeter make the moves. Other potential owners turned down teaming with Jeter for this reason. Until we're specifically told otherwise I'm 100% believing these are Jeter's moves.
  15. President of Baseball Operations
  16. Wait, he fired Heath Bell and Fernando Rodney too??? Fuck!
  17. I don't want this team to become the cheap version of the Yankees anymore than it already was. Conine McKeon Dawson and Perez didn't have to go. If anything I'd have guessed they were the 4 who were most likely to be kept since they're more symbolic than anything. This is also not gonna sit well with the players. Dumb move.
  18. I'd like to point out that it's not like I think these four guys will be missed. I'm admitting they didn't do much. But that's not the point here. This was a cowardly and classless move. A very Loria move I wanna say but at the same time if Loria is anything good he's loyal to his people and this isn't that. Also, as much as we don't love Samson around here what a slap in the face to have him do this after confirming to him that he also won't be back next year. Jeez.
  19. Evil Darth Vader of an owner reigns over the Marlins galaxy and everyone is dying for him to leave... the day comes and the next guy starts off just as shitty. That's So Marlins.
  20. I get it that the new owner wants to start fresh but this is a bad first step. Firing the team president and then making him go fire the only 4 "legends" that work for the team. Mind you these 4 men don't even really do anything! They were "special assistants." McKeon himself has admitted they don't even have real duties they're just paid to hang around and assist and give advice and be mentors and leaders to the team and to the front office as well. What harm would their have been in keeping these guys? It would have been nice to show some respect for them. Mind you the kicker is Jeter wants to KEEP MIKE HILL... possibly permanently not just in transition. So fire the 4 guys who actually do nothing and keep the one guy who is probably the most responsible for this shit storm of an organization???????
  21. And he asked Samson to do the firing so that he didn't have to do it when he took over. And you all thought Jeffrey Loria was the biggest dick on earth. Get ready for the Jeter Era.
