jeter is allstart and hof player i think he will surprise us,

Like the way he had Samson surprise Conine McKeon Dawson and Perez with their firings last week?

Half-percent but yeah a part.

Having half of one percent of ownership is like being in the same hotel as a couple having sex in another room and claiming you got laid that night.

not easy to make team as good as is now, but jeter is hof and all start he can do it,,

Being a hall of fame level player on the field doesn't automatically translate to being able to run a team. He might be horrible at it.

maybe but maybe he can be good,, we not know until he goes

The Marlins have $95 million committed for next season. Pretty sure $53 million is to Chen, Prado, Ziegler, Volquez, and Tazawa.

Either way, there is no excuse for trading more than one of the outfielders. Ozuna is still arbitration eligible and Yelich is on as team friendly of a contract as you will find.

Why is Chris Sale done? An injury or something? Seems pretty sudden with the year he was having.

Oh god you're back  :Angry-min:

The sad thing is that when you look at the other major contracts handed out, if Stanton performs anywhere close to how he did this season going forward, his contract is really in line with what other players have gotten.

Only in Miami would there be whining about one of the worst owners in the history of MLB selling the team.

I’ve waited over ten years for this day.

It’s more about the direction the new owners will take hen anything about Loria.

Not one person here is whining about Loria selling.

Good point but I don't think the value of his contract is the problem, it's the percentage of the payroll that it's gonna take up. Stanton may be worth that contract but that doesn't mean this organization can afford to pay it.

The new owners haven’t held their first fucking press conference yet.

Do you want Loria to continue to own the team?  If the answer is no then please start enjoying this day.

No, there’s just like 11 people in the thread who are voicing their displeasure with the direction the new ownership is taking before they’ve even introduced themselves via a presser.

People voice their displeasure because of some of the dick moves Jeter has made such as making Samson fire the Marlins country club boys and also reporting that huge salary cuts will ensue under his regime.

Let me be clear. I think Jeter will be good, but I don't understand why he had to come out and pretty much admit the team will be gutted. He could have maybe gave assurance that they would like Stanton to stay and do every thing in power to keep him despite the budget changes.

LORIA IS GONE: ALL MARLINS FANS STILL SAD

I will only be sad if Stanton is gone. And if they trade someone like Yelich to rid themselves of Prado or Gordon.

Way to change your argument... You said people were whining that Loria is selling. They are not.

Jeter hasn't said a word about anything. He hasn't even said he was buying the team.
