Frisaro implies a lack of clubhouse cohesion

Featured Replies

Manager Don Mattingly said something at the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline that stuck with me. He noted that at the Deadline, some players who remained with the club were happy and some who weren't dealt were not. Clearly, there are veterans who see what the Marlins are trying to build and want to be part of it, while others may have wanted to move to teams in the postseason race. Either way, I think it creates an environment where everyone is not on the same page.

Kinda makes you wonder who's happy and who isn't...

Also there's a difference between wishing you were traded and actually being a clubhouse problem because of it. With Starlin Castro for example I'd imagine him not being a problem even though he'd rather have been traded.

Do you really think it's him though?

Could be...his agent wanted a trade before the season, and there aren’t many veterans left on the team.

Whoever they're talking about, if Mattingly was the one to bring this up then the front office knows who's who and this could definitely influence who isn't here next season.

I'm guessing Starlin Castro is one of the guys who wanted to be traded to a contending team.

He just cleared trade waviers so this is very possible.
