April 29, 200323 yr AWESOME! This reminds me of A-Rod http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/minor...heet042803.html (Front page news)
April 29, 200323 yr Miguel Cabrera himself... this kid is gonna be the next big thing Marlins prospect Trevor Hutchinson gets honorable mention on the prospect hot sheet
April 29, 200323 yr this kid is gonna be the next big thing Yea i have seen him play and he is very fun to watch play. i hope he is ready so we can trade lowell for some young pitching that are cheap
April 29, 200323 yr Lowell/ Wayne or Tejera for Wood or Prior? Are The Cubs crackheads? They are if they make that deal.
April 29, 200323 yr You might be able to get Zambrano..... Wood and Prior are as untouchable as Sosa.
April 29, 200323 yr Are you kidding me? Lowell and guy's who's highest peak is a #2 guy for Guy's who will make The Johnson/Schill combo look like Sheets/Rusch
April 29, 200323 yr Yes, Zambrano is another guy I would really like, but not for Lowell... We could get Zambrano kinda cheap, couldn't we? How about Oliver Perez too? he's a great young pitcher...
April 29, 200323 yr Nobody said anything about Beckett... i know... i am making the point on how untouchable Prior is
April 29, 200323 yr And Oliver Perez has been slumping lately, plus he is 21 and a lefty... so why would SD trade him?
April 29, 200323 yr Because he isn't that expensive, and we have everything they want/need... we could probably get him for Wayne or Tejera alone...
April 29, 200323 yr why would they trade a young pitcher for another???? especially one with the upside of Olivier Perez
April 29, 200323 yr Because he isn't that expensive, and we have everything they want/need... we could probably get him for Wayne or Tejera alone... why would they want Wayne or Tejera for Oliver Perez? all i have to say is :hat much?
April 29, 200323 yr Because Tejera is, wut, 24, and is farther in progress, so he would help them more.... They think they are us, that they can contend, so they might sacrafice 3 years for a guy who will come in and be more effective...
April 29, 200323 yr they thought they could contend before Nevin went down... no one in their right mind would have do that trade..... its robbery and GM Kevin Towers is no moron
April 29, 200323 yr San Diego is looking at developing talent this year.... They do not expect to even begin any illusion of being a .500 team, let alone a contender until next year..... They have nice talent in the minors...expect them to get plenty of playing time. They are not trading Perez for equal if not worse talent.
April 29, 200323 yr This whole discussion reminds me of my last couple of fantasy leagues... "I'll trade you Lowell, Knaublauch, and this stinky shoe for Arod. Look - you are getting two players PLUS a stinky shoe for ONE player!" :banghead
April 29, 200323 yr Cubs are very high on Wood and Prior, pretty much untouchable. Prior, is going to be the next Mike Hampton at the plate, which is very valuable in the NL. They are also high on Clement, who I'm sure we gave away for almost nothing. Zambrano is a young stud too. I think he is much more tradeable than those other guys and may have the same upside. I'm suprised they would get rid of Juan Cruz. They were so high on him. There plan on him was to work him out of the bullpen and get some spot starts. To not put too much pressure on him. He is now not playing an important role for the team, I think just long relief. If they are willing to let him go so soon I'm scared they know he is not as good as once expected.
April 29, 200323 yr Author Guys the reason I would want Lowell( IF were out of it) to be traded to the Cubs. Is the Cubs are so loaded, I mean loaded with players you haven't even heard of. Why do you think Willis was so easily had, because they have guys who's ceiling to them is much higher. Taken nothing away from Willis, I think the Cubs are a little surprise he's come this far but there is so much more, believe they don't lose sleep having dealt Dontrelle. Here's a couple of names: 1. RHP Angel Guzman (Double A) flat out nasty, very smooth deliver, easily top 98mph. The 21yr old is probable there top pitcher in the minors. 2.RHP Francis Beltran (Triple A) A closer in the making who's been compared to Detroit RHP Frank German. 3.LHP Felix Sanchez (Double A) A thin lefty with a low to mid 90's fastball. 4.LHP Andy Sisco (Single A) A big lefty who has the stuff to be a big-time pitcher. by the way the Marlins are getting an up close look at some of this guys as Carolina is playing West Tenn.(the Cubs double A team). Dontrelle's revenge last against his old mates IN H R ER BB K ERA 6.1 5 1 1 1 6 1.27
April 30, 200323 yr thanks for the info. ramp. So lets bring up Willis and see what this prospect can do.
