MLB The Show 22

I didn't know this testing thing was happening, so I downloaded it last night.

Wtf is this pitching? Whatever happened to the little meter up top with the bar you had to line up? Took me about 15-20 minutes to get the hang of it, but I don't know if I like it....

Also, I still have the most unrealistic hitting stats in these games. I remember playing this back in like 2010 and having 5 walks in an entire season (4 of which were IBBs).

Does anyone know what the developers' plan is for the CBA's changes? Are we going to see the game overhauled once the new CBA comes in with NL DH, potentially a new arb system, etc.? Seems like the game is going to be outdated right off the bat.

Little meter one, pure analog pitching, I think? I switched to Pinpoint last year, so I just assumed they carried over the settings from MLB 21. Is it not in the options?

EDIT - wait now I think you meant "meter" the original pitching style in the game ... I hope they didn't get rid of that, was definitely a good one for getting people into the game.

As for the CBA, I'd imagine anything franchise related is going to have to go off the old CBA for now, probably not enough time to implement the changes.

Yea, the little meter. There were a few variations of it, but the gist was you would hold it for intensity and have to match it up with some green area for accuracy... similar to the throw meter for fielding.

Admittedly, I didn't tweak any options because I wanted to learn this, but it just seems like an odd system. What are the little shapes you draw supposed to even represent?

I couldn't tell you honestly. lol. Some of them really don't make sense, and some are the same as others. Sinker and 12-6 curve for example have the same motion.

Perhaps they have something to do with the pitch movement? IDK.

I enjoyed it cause that was my favorite part of playing 2K Baseball, the pitching stuff. Heh.

Would be cool if they could have the incoming ones as well, as I'm sure those are in production way ahead of time.

I think Nike wants to reveal those over time like they have been so probably won't immediately be in the game, except maybe for Washington's.

Oh yeah good point.

One year they did add the 4th of July caps after they debuted in the summer so if they wanna do that I'm sure it's possible.

Indeed. They may already have all the code and visuals they need to add them into the game, just have to wait for them to release in real life.

Like when new ballparks are coming in, usually the game has them for the year they're opening - Truist Park was available in MLB 17 for example.
