Should MLB consider renaming Tommy John surgery to Miami Marlins surgery?

Featured Replies

Max Meyer, Anthony Bender, Cody Poteet, Paul Campbell, and Sean Guenther all underwent Tommy John surgery this season and we still have several weeks of the season left to throw in another name or two on that list.

Is there a major league record out there for most Tommy John surgeries on one team during a single season?

At what point does our medical and training staff get the axe?

Why are we so snake bitten?

I bet you the Marlins medical/training room has a "___ Days Since Last TJ Surgery" calendars on the wall.

Dr. James Andres and Dr. Neal ElAttrache are gonna have to include the Marlins training staff on their Christmas card list.

Ng probably salivating she can use that as an excuse to not do anything this off-season and saying we need to wait until 2024 when all these "top tier" guys return.

Aside from that snark - didn't they overhaul the conditioning program last off-season? I guess whatever program they put in place was too much for our noodle arms.

Eh there’s nothing to suggest this is a marlins thing. Other teams have very similar TJ % among pitchers

Good job taking the thread title literally.

Have we ever had 5 pitchers in one season get TJ surgery? Did any other teams have this many TJ surgeries this season?

Just thought it was a worthy discussion topic because damn.

It's funny cause you're the one that actually has a B in their name.
