Posted January 3, 200421 yr It has been reported that Braden was talking to the Mets for some time, but now has agreed to terms. Congrats Braden. You did well. Thanks for all you contributions this past year! The Star-Ledger
January 3, 200421 yr i'll miss him he was here for awhile. good luck against all your oppenents braden except us.
January 3, 200421 yr Author good move by the mets but i don't believe he is better than benitez Funny how we traded closers. Guess we'll see which one is more consistent in pressure situations. :whistle
January 3, 200421 yr Its funny. The world thinks Looper is a clutch performer after watching game 4. He did a hell of a job but that was one inning. He is better than Uggie. And if Looper is the same price as Benitez, how could anyone doubt the Benitez signing?
January 3, 200421 yr Good luck braden! Try to do what you did here in the last couple of months over there. I hope Loop can straighten things out over there and work on another pitch.
January 3, 200421 yr Its funny. The world thinks Looper is a clutch performer after watching game 4. He did a hell of a job but that was one inning. Again which is why we should have traded Pavano instead of Redman.
January 3, 200421 yr I liked Redman in the regular season but I lost my confidence in him during the playoffs. He is good, but I don't think he is good enough for our rotation. I mean . . . Kerry f***ing Wood hit a homerun of him with 2 outs. He got rocked in the Series. I think Pavano is a better pitcher than him. It isn't like anyone scored 14 runs against Carl or anything . . .
January 3, 200421 yr on the subject- 2 words 4 the muts OVA PAID lol i didnt even think what those fans will do to his fragile ego..... as for trading pavz?????? man did you watch the playoffs?????? or do you keep picturing Pavz in that 25-9 game agasnt Boston?
January 3, 200421 yr I mean . . . Kerry f***ing Wood hit a homerun of him with 2 outs. The one thing against that argument is Kerry Wood is one of the best hitting pitchers in the game... They even said (FOX and ESPN) he was one of them...
January 3, 200421 yr He is a good hitter, but he shouldn't be hitting home runs off of Red. Redman just is not better than Pavs. Farewell pal. But sure, Wood can hit. But he shouldn't hit 2 out home runs in game 7. Especially 430 ft homers!
January 3, 200421 yr Using Wood's HR as an argument is weak. You can't base your opinion of a pitcher on one at bat. Everyone screws up sometimes... even Mariano Rivera... even Eric Gagne (All-Star game).
January 3, 200421 yr Ok! Look at Redman in game 2 of the Series. Same situation. In a jam. . . 2 outs. . . Home run!!! Redman just isn't up to caliber as the rest of the staff. So we got rid of the right guy in my terms.
January 3, 200421 yr Don't get me wrong, here. I preferred to stay with Pavano over Redman. I just don't think the reason for that choice should come from a couple of at bats. Regardless, this argument could go on forever, and this is a place for Looper. Anyone know a good psychologist in NYC for him?
January 3, 200421 yr Braden Looper is going to dominate Florida every time he takes the mound against them. The Marlins are a horrible franchise and should be contracted.

January 3, 200421 yr Braden Looper is going to dominate Florida every time he takes the mound against them. The Marlins are a horrible franchise and should be contracted. If he is a starting pitcher. The Mets are never going to have a lead against us late in the game. He might in Spring Training.
