I remember back in 2020, when I noted in my mega post about the comparisons between the 2003 Marlins and the 2020 Marlins that the Marlins traded for Jeff Conine on August 31, 2003 and traded for Griffin Conine on August 31, 2020.

Would have been a great season to win the WS. 😂

But I will say that the Marlins should call up Griffin Conine on August 31st this season to play LF, maybe after they trade DLC. Or even RF if they bench Avi, That will complete the full circle moment. Remember that Conine essentially replaced Hollandsworth that season when the Marlins benched him. 😂 Maybe this year they can repeat with Griffin Conine and Avi. 🤣

I will say, though, that if Sandy can get himself together for the stretch run, the Marlins will have a pretty lethal trio of Sandy, Luzardo and Garrett at the top of their rotation even after Eury gets shut down. I think a Sandy turnaround is actually more important (or at least as important) as any deadline deals Kim will make.

Yeah, it'd essentially be acquiring an ace.....though it is perhaps somewhat offset by Eury.....would still be fantastic, though.
