Just turn off the badge notifications for that app. I can't stand those apps that do that when they don't actually have any useful notifications ever.

Yeah, I'll probably have to do that. Weather channel is another one - I don't care about the weather news story in Oregon - I have the "news" ones outside my local area turned off and it still sends them
