What a huge sigh of relief when Enarcantion called for it almost against the wall. I thought the one tonight was a HR. I had the sound off, so I didn't know what was going on until it was caught. It looked like a HR off the bat. Maybe it wasn't as dramatic as it looked. Did the commentators say "camping under it"?
14 hours ago14 hr I wonder if the home plate umpire has PTSD from 2 out of 3 calls getting changed to a ball in the 10th. Really only the second one should he be ashamed of. I don't know if I like a call getting overturned when a ball is a out of the strike zone by a sliver like the first one was. ABS was created because of calls like the second one, wasn't it? .1 inches is 2.54 millimeters. I wonder if the Blue Jay broadcasters use MM during Blue Jays games. .1 inch is likely rounded. I'm sure some overturned calls miss by a MM. Maybe even less. But I don't think so because a MM is the thickness of a credit card.
14 hours ago14 hr Last year from June 13th until August 3rd, the Marlins went 16 games over .500 at 30-14. That is 16 games over .500 in a 44 game span. They have now won 24 and lost 8 since the start of June. That is 16 games over .500 in kist 32 games. Absolutely remarkable. The fact that we did not start the run at 16 games under like last year, but half of that is a big reason why we are in contention for the Wild Card.... or maybe more....
