January 10, 200422 yr pro player stadium is MUCH, MUCH more accessible to broward's population than it is to dade's population (both during weekends and ESPECIALLY during weekdays). hell, you could get to PPS more easily from boca raton (which is palm beach county, mind you) than from heavily populated south miami. if you understand how traffic flows on weekday evenings, then there should be no debate about this.
January 10, 200422 yr I can guarantee that any stadium built outside of Downtown Miami will fail. Panthers failed I guess... The Magic failed too... Hey! Let me let you in on a little secret: He isn't talking about hockey and basketball!
January 10, 200422 yr pro player stadium is MUCH, MUCH more accessible to broward's population than it is to dade's population. hell, you could get to PPS more easily from boca raton (which is palm beach county, mind you) than from some parts of heavily populated south miami. if you understand how traffic flows on weeknights, then there should be no debate about this. Why not just make a rule that PPS is in Broward? Because whenever I hear some Browardite idiot telling me how the stadium is already in Dade and Miami fans missed I want to break something! And when people say that this stadium is such a logical spot i get pissed. Why? If the stadium is already there and the results are bad, why will a roof make such an improvement?
January 10, 200422 yr Threat of rain... That will be a guarenteed improvement but it will be nothing near the possibility of a team in Downtown or the OB.
January 10, 200422 yr Why does everyone think there is no fan base in Palm Beach? Everyone in this county love the Marlins as much as everyone in Dade. A stadium off tri-rail and I-95 would attract more Broward residents and ALOT more Palm Beach residents to the park. And to all you Miami-Dade people complaining about how it's too far: You had your chance. This team has been there for ten years, and you have in no way proven that you deserve a second chance. Hypocrites to the fullest extent.
January 10, 200422 yr This team has been there for ten years there (as you put it) is the middle of nowhere, not accesible to maimi residents, especially in rush hour traffic. BROWARD had their chance, we haven't. There are a lot of fans that aren't as hardcore as we are, but still aren't bandwagon fans, that would go to SO many more games if it were accesible to them. Miami is infinitely better than any other place in south florida- we haven't "had our chance" yet.
January 10, 200422 yr There are a lot of fans that aren't as hardcore as we are, but still aren't bandwagon fans, that would go to SO many more games if it were accesible to them. Welcome to Palm Beach County.
January 10, 200422 yr to all you Miami-Dade people complaining about how it's too far: You had your chance. This team has been there for ten years, and you have in no way proven that you deserve a second chance. Hypocrites to the fullest extent. And the people of Palm Beach and Broward have proven themselves I suppose? :mischief2 Please. Broward and Palm Beach are just as guilty as to why the Marlins have had piss poor attendance for years and don't tell me that the stadium would be better in Palm Beach because thats just stupid. Somewhere in between everything is the best place for it and Broward is in the middle of both Miami-Dade and Palm Beach....however since Broward doesn't want to step up, Miami-Dade has and if they get the stadium then so be it.
January 10, 200422 yr There are a lot of fans that aren't as hardcore as we are, but still aren't bandwagon fans, that would go to SO many more games if it were accesible to them. Welcome to Palm Beach County. exactly, palm beach county may be just like miami in the respect that they have many fans not like us, but still willing to go if it were closer to home- but which city has more people?
January 10, 200422 yr And the people of Palm Beach and Broward have proven themselves I suppose? :mischief2 Southern Broward and northern Miami have gotten their chance, they f***ed up. Palm Beach has never gotten a chance. I know that I, personally, would be a proud owner of season tickets if the stadium were in PBC. It's a well populated, fast-growing and wealthy community that has a great location being offered.
January 10, 200422 yr Well I think you have to take into account: Which population would be more willing to buy higher-priced tickets, ect? Palm Beach has a much higher average household income the Miami-Dade AND Broward.
January 10, 200422 yr quick question for you, wild card. where in boca do you live? East, near the border bewtween Boca and Deerfield.
January 10, 200422 yr Southern Broward and northern Miami have gotten their chance, they f***ed up. Palm Beach has never gotten a chance. I know that I, personally, would be a proud owner of season tickets if the stadium were in PBC. It's a well populated, fast-growing and wealthy community that has a great location being offered. Why the hell would you give PBC a chance before Miami?
January 10, 200422 yr How long can it take from south PBC to the stadium? Usually an hour, give or take traffic.
January 10, 200422 yr so that is equal time to miami to the stadium and boca so why should boca get a park? it is 15 minutes , tops, from pps to the stadium on rush hour traffic if you can't add 15 minutes to your journey you suck
January 10, 200422 yr hey josh. if your dad is named brian, then you only save about 10 or 15 minutes if the stadium were put in mangonia park.
January 10, 200422 yr But why do people think Miami deserves a stadium anymore than PBC? They are the FLORIDA Marlins, people. People in Downtown Miami don't go to games for the same reason as Palm Beach: distance.
January 10, 200422 yr Well I think you have to take into account: Which population would be more willing to buy higher-priced tickets, ect? Palm Beach has a much higher average household income the Miami-Dade AND Broward. would you rather have 10,000 people in the stadium, all with expensive tickets, or 25,000 people with a variety of tickets? Besides you dont have to be rich to buy a 50 dollar ticket for 20 games. Obviously, you can't be poor either. If we have enough 20 game ticket buyers, we'll be fine
January 10, 200422 yr But why do people think Miami deserves a stadium anymore than PBC? They are the FLORIDA Marlins, people. People in Downtown Miami don't go to games for the same reason as Palm Beach: distance. Why not just put a stadium in the farm country near Lake Okechobee. After all, it is the Florida Marlins.

If we have enough 20 game ticket buyers, we'll be fine Again, why do you seem to think there is no fan base in PBC? There are tons of Marlin fans here, just like in Downtown Miami, that don't go due to traffic and distance. The number you just threw out is an insult to everyone in this county.
