Buckeye
If anyone saw this Friday's USA Today (a wonderful paper filled to the brim with journalistic integrity, but I do read the sports section) and in the Sports section was a thank you letter, addressed to President Bush, thanking him for putting the ban on gay marriage. Bigots names printed in bold, as a sign of solidarity that "those people" shouldn't have the same rights as everyone else. The fact that USA Today even allowed this ad makes me sick on a gut level. Homosexuality is so far beneath my radar of important things in this world (as in, "does it really matter if they get married?" to me, middle of the road, white American). And yet, this newspaper printed this bigotry. So, would USA Today print a "Thank you President Bush for cracking down on those illegal immigrant Mexicans for taking our jobs (not that I'd ever work those jobs)" ad? How about a Ku Klux Klan ad asking black people to leave? To me it's the same difference. It's prejudice, it's bigoted and frankly it makes me sick. America seems to deal with things on a middle school level of psychology (the fact that we have a president condemning something that has no business being regulated by the government). I'm just disgusted with the world right now. I think it's time we, as Americans, main priority should be eliminating racism and bigotry during our lifetime. Forget foreign affairs when we have people treating other people like crap, just because they are different (and not hurting anyone). nc marlin
There will always be bigotry in this world so you might as well learn to block it out.
FutureGM
I agree, I'm very surprised that people don't see that they're going down the same road that we have with Asians and African-Americans, as well as Hispanics. It's pretty sad to watch. Another reason why organized religion annoys me, because they actually promote this kind of discrimination. Buckeye
There will always be bigotry in this world so you might as well learn to block it out. Why should I block out something I'm wholeheartedly against? Why should I block out something that makes me sick to my stomach? Why should I block out something that insults my intelligence in faith and in a human being's ability to evolve? I will never, ever, not be opposed to ignorance and prejudice. Period. I hate the people who value this crap and personally find myself the enemy of anyone who thinks these thoughts (particularly those biased enough to act upon them). Is it too much to ask for that people just give up thinking of differences as a bad thing and accept and share the world with black, white, asian, mexican or even gay people? F- RACISM. F- IGNORANCE. F- BIGOTRY. I won't stand for this crap. Grow up. Why?

Look you should it but unless you are going to do something about it don't let it get to you to the point that you are upset.
Buckeye
All I'm saying is it SHOULD upset people. No one SHOULD stand for this crap. If I honestly saw someone being discriminated against like this in public, I honestly think I'd be pissed enough to do something about it. The President does this (not that I support him, you can ask LCastillo for proof) but his main constituency is those extremist orthodox Christians. They are the ones who support his every freaking move. In any case I have no problem with homosexuality as long as someone doesn't try to do it to me or show it in public for everyone to say (Like kissing in public). Guest Juanky
Well, being part of probably one of the most hated minorities out there, I can associate with some of the anger here. But honestly, you are best to just shelve it away some where for safe keeping, bringing out when the time is right. Immediate anger never solves anything, but stored anger serves as motivation. Shamrock
I think that ended w/ clinton. Politicians should have never been given that authority anyway. This is the job of parents, not corrupt white house people...and oh yes bush is just as corrupt as clinton...your ignorant if you think different. SorianoFanHFW
Wasn't it not too long ago people were condemning some station for not playing a politically motivated advertisement? I believe in freedom of speech and unless something advocates a violent overthrow of government or killing people we have to let people get their voice heard. However, to do that with one thing and not another is not right.

Why shouldnt they be allowed t kiss in public? WOuld you hate if you saw a dude kissing his girlfriend? No. Homosexuality isnt for me, but they have the same right to show affection in public as Heterosexuals. Period. If you argue this point, then you're condeming our constitution. legacyofCangelosi
People often refer to people who are 'bigots' as being ignorant, but many people especially many who oppose homosexuality do so because of religion. And it is as ignorant to bash someone's religious belief even if u see it as wrong ,as it is for them to bash homosexuality.
