  1. Point Break. Road House. Red Dawn. I guess two word titles that star Patrick Swayze.
  2. I always hate these because if there was no early entry, the way programs would recruit would totally change. The powers would be even more powerful and there would be a lot less parity then there is today.
  3. I think thats a really good deal actually especially as teams pay absurd amounts for middle relievers. He had 74 K's in 62 IP last year. That is made of win.
  4. One day after losing his job with the Houston Astros to Miguel Tejada, shortstop Adam Everett has agreed to a one-year, contract with the Minnesota Twins, according to major-league sources. The Astros declined to offer Everett a contract on Wednesday after acquiring Tejada from the Orioles for five players. The Twins have been seeking a shortstop since trading Jason Bartlett to the Tampa Bay Rays in the Delmon Young deal. Everett, considered one of the best defensive shortstops in the majors, missed more than three months last season with a fractured fibula, returning for three games in late September. The Orioles did not want him included in their deal for Tejada. The knock on Everett is his offense; he has a .248 career batting average, .299 on-base percentage and .357 slugging percentage in seven major-league seasons. The Twins, however, value defense, and Everett likely will be a favorite to win a Gold Glove, an award he never won in the National League. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7559454
  5. The Blue Jays have been mostly quiet this off-season, waiting for the right player to become available at a reasonable price. That player finally has emerged ? free-agent shortstop David Eckstein. The Jays have reached a preliminary agreement with Eckstein on a 1-year, $4.5 million contract, according to a major-league source. Eckstein, a two-time World Series champion, likely will become the team's everyday shortstop, returning John McDonald to a backup role. The Jays signed McDonald to a two-year, $3.8 million contract in September, but considered his deal affordable even if they used him as a reserve. Eckstein, who turns 32 on Jan. 20, struggled to find the right fit in free agency, and the squeeze became tighter after the Cardinals declined to offer him arbitration. The White Sox and Tigers acquired shortstops through trades early in the off-season. The Mets signed Luis Castillo to play second base after a brief flirtation with Eckstein. The Rockies, too, considered Eckstein at second, but the Jays offered a better opportunity. Eckstein, a seven-year veteran, batted a career-high .309 for the Cardinals last season with three homers, 31 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. His career on-base percentage is .351. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7558686

The only name on that list that surprises me at all is Albert Pujols. Why? The guy is built like a brick wall. It surprises me just because he is huge name and one of the best players in the universe but when you look at his body and other circumstantial evidence it really isn't. La Russa's link to some of these guys is absolutely ridiculous. How dirty is that guy if this is true? If you want a surprising one how about Rich Garces? I seriously lol'd. Not to make light of this but I feel bad for whoever had to get near that ass.

If they ever reopen JFK's assassination case, without a doubt Lowell will be the 2nd shooter.

If Pujols-steriods is true, i think that will have to be the biggest surprise Him, Andy Pettitte and Jason Varitek ( x infinity) would be for me. This board's biggest surprise would be that Lowell isn't on the list.

So can we expect suspensions for every one of the people named? Or is there a statute of limitations on steroid use? The thing I wonder about most is if teams will be allowed to use this to terminate contracts. I could foresee a bunch of nasty legal battles if that happens.

That is an unconfirmed list I see prancing around the internet right now. One name makes me incredibly sad.

Maybe I am naive, but I am not really sure why they need to name names? Isn't enough to mention that ex number of guys were All-Stars, MVPs, Cy Young winners, led the league in HR's, etc. There obviously was a big problem but this sounds like a witch hunt. Is it really going to make us feel better if they give the names of players? Maybe they should include the names of the owners/managers/trainers and other people in management (COMMISSIONER's office) who knew it was going on and did absolutely nothing about it because they were making $$$. Don't unfairly nail this entire problem on the players..... JMHO The report isn't just about the players. I am glad to hear that but I still wonder why we have to name names... watch the news tonight and my guess is that their first focus will be on who was using them versus who knew it was going on. Why shouldn't they be? As a fan of the sport, I'm going to be sick to my stomach probably by a lot of the names on the list. I still want those that have taken an invincible attitude when it comes to their use of PED and HGH to be exposed. Exposing those that have gotten away with it in the past could do just as much to curtail use by other players using currently by fear of being exposed as well as enhanced drug testing could do. Good point and no one wants to see it cleaned up more than me but if they name 60-80, did they name everyone involved? What about the guys they missed? I have a hunch that there were alot more than 80 guys using. You can't get 100% cooperation, you aren't going to have a fool proof net that can scoop up every single fish in the sea in this amount of time. Just because you don't get them all doesn't mean you don't get the ones you can.

Im thinking anybody who says they will be sick to their stomach just wanted to know nothing. I wish there weren't rapists and murders in the world too. Doesn't mean turning a blind eye to it will make them not exist. Fair point, I was reading it that youd be sick to your stomach with surprise that this was going on and certain guys were using/ordering/whatever it wants to say. Depends on who it is. I just hate that I would have spent time rooting for guys who I thought were historically great on their own that actually were cheating. This will sound hokey but I really don't care but knowing a guy like Roger Clemens, who I used to worship as a kid, used PEDs or the like really does suck to me.

That is correct, this is not all that interesting to me, but the media will be all over it for the sensationalism. You seem to be interested whether you're admitting it or not.

  23. Temple of Doom is definitely the weakest to me, but I can still enjoy it. The mine cart ride is awesome and the human sacrifice used to scare the crap out of me as a kid. Kate Capshaw is the worst 'Jones Girl' though.
  24. I've said it before, but Mitt Romney=John Kerry. Please expand.
