100 percent agree. When Acosta came up to ask hoping he'd get the reps at ss but with pauley and norby out that forced their hand. Acosta is preferable over otto long term but he might need more seasoning. Either way Acosta and sanpja should be getting abs rest of the year at the expense of Hill and otto.

Thankfully slept through it. Lackluster performance again. B2B for Sanoja is indeed embarrassing. Keep trotting out Hill every day is no bueno and pointless. Anyone else would be more beneficial long-term.

Roster Moves Thread - 2025 Season
Simpson sent down. Seth Martinez called up, finally! Tarnok called back up. Junk on IL. Elbow nerve. That's probably it for him. Hats off to a job well done. Dax Fulton called up to AAA. He's a big lefty.

Occam's Razor says that Ronny is suffering from arm fatigue. If you look at his mechanics and arm whip, especially on his slider, it's pretty obvious that it is a question of when not if he is going to have a major elbow injury, I.e. Tommy John surgery. Clearly they are babying him through the rest of the year hoping that they can delay the inevitable. They are also not going to outright say that is the reason. That is the only logical explanation and one we need to accept going forward. If it is not that it is gross incompetence and professional malpractice so I choose to go with that line of thinking. Time to audition some arms from AAA in a rotating cast of computer-generated MLB the Show names like we typically do and address the bullpen in the off-season. BAH GAWD THAT'S GEORGE SORIANO'S MUSIC!

You don't leave a man out there to drown like that. Is Simpson banging Clayton's daughter or something because that was some vindictive stuff. That was worse than watching Ronny Simon cry. Simpson will be fine. He went to Columbia so I'm sure he is a bright guy. Unless he is the biggest dick in the world totally unfair to end his career and destroy him mentally like that. That was like watching Raja Jackson beat down Sycho Stu. Totally unequivocally uncalled for.

And put Dane in to pitch instead of Sanoja. What if Sanoja hurts his arm or twists his ankle? He has a future, Dane does not. Dane also used to pitch while Snowman is lobbing. Call up Mesa, Norby, Pauley, (when healthy), DDLS, Berry, Martorella, Snelling Josh White, Pushard and DFA the guys who aren't coming back. Go full tilt on the rebuild like I'm titling right now.

That was not cool leaving Simpson out there to dry like it was a spring training game. Look Simpson, is not a quality major leaguer but to do that to him when he fought through the majors as a 32nd (I think) round pick, achieved his dream and then embarrass him like that. He's probably DFA'ed tomorrow but I am not at all happy with the way they humiliated him. He's still a Marlin and will always be. Livid.

There is such a big difference in giving reps to 22 year old guys like Max Acosta than giving reps to 27 year old rookies like Wagaman and Simpson. I can understand what they are doing to a degree but there is a point where enough is enough and we are well past that point with Simpson. I'd much rather see Victor Mesa Jr. out there in CF than Derek Hill as one may potentially be of benefit down the road (likely not but maybe) and the other will never be a productive player. Putting Simpson out there anymore is just rage bait and not fair to him either.

We need to give the reps to the rookies that will be around long-term. Giving reps to guys like Zuber, Simpson, Phillips, Hill, Wagaman benefits nothing other than a possibly higher draft position.

And our infield would be Burgermeister, Otto Empire, Jizz, and Josh Bell with Brujan in the Snowman role. Presented without comment.

If we stood pat our rotation would be Eddy, Eury, Healthy Sandy, Lizard and J'Daniel.

Great start by Eddy. I think we all clenched when Simpson came in. Always take a W over Alantta.

Cal Quantrill bye bye
Cal was vintage cal in his first start for the braves. Still a puzzling pickup from them.

Agustin a catcher ?
75 is being generous. More to work with the staff and the young catchers. Sort of a bullpen catcher, catching coach role. Had to do with their development not winning short term.

Agustin a catcher ?
They really should call up Navaretto and have him catch a few games and work with the staff and the two young catchers. We are stuck with Hicks on the roster since he's rule 5 and they won't send down Gus to work on his defense although that wouldn't be a terrible idea. Navaretto is miles better than either defensively and he's been mentoring Mack. During the off-season Gus should get a first baseman mitt and play in DR or VNZ all winter.

Cardinals @ Marlins 8/19 [& 8/20 I guess - Michael]
The most positive at bat in baseball is the bases loaded walk. RBI Walk from Marsee. That's why this kid could be special. No other player would have had that discipline.

polly, you are back to being negative Nelly. Vintage Sandy, Super Max goes yard, 7 rookies in the lineup. The glass is half-full and my back hurts.
-
Cal Quantrill bye bye
It's a procedural move. He could pitch tomorrow night.
