Solid outing by Eury. Nice hold by bullpen. Bats didn't convert to runs. No Wagaman is ok in my book. We now have the NL's #2 and #3 in average (Stowers, Edwards). Hard to believe there is only one hitter over .300 in the whole NL (Will Smith, a career .265 hitter).

Junk had to regress at some point. We need to talk about Eric Wagaman. Simply not good enough. 2 out of 3 not bad. Big Eunit up tomorrow.

Opponents were hitting .433 the third time through against Cal. They are batting .290 second ab, and .257 first an. It would be malpractice to let him pitch the third time through.

Just finished watching the replay. A lot to like about this team. Quantrill with another solid start. Gutted out another victory and nice to hear fans actually cheering the home town versus the visitors. Bender throwing wiffle ball movement pitches out there. Everyone stepping up and they are feeding off each other's energy. It's almost like we have a plan.

Holy crap. Kyle Stowers with the Chavez-Meldrick Taylor finish. We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and then snatched it right back. Somebody get Stowers a $1 hot dog! ..

How the hell are hot dogs only $3 regularly at Marlins park? That might be the most egregious thing Bruce Sherman has done.

Unfortunately the Giants aren't on the schedule for the rest of the year otherwise the universe might implode if there was an Alcantara-Verlander matchup. The movable force versus the resistible object.

Sandy Alcantara is a masochist's favorite pitcher. So hard to watch.

With Norby out for a while, hopefully Graham Pauley can get some extended playing time and show he can be a part of the future.

Norby will be out a couple of months. Had surgery on his hand/wrist. Look for Graham Pauley to get some extended playing time at third.

We've never done a rebuild right. So far we are hitting every mark and actually have a plan this time. It is beating a dead horse complaining about the owner. He is cheap and universally unliked, even despised, including myself. We have to win in spite of the owner and our plan right now sets us on that path. There will be struggles along the way, but Rome wasn't built in a day.

Nada. Polly is a good egg. Gets caught up in the moment from time to time and struggles with the long-term big picture but the wog is a Marlin fan so at the end of the day that makes Polly ok in my book.

If the past is any indicator of the future, you don't want Polly the mush to agree with you. His takes are MarlinManiac-esque. Your senses are pretty sharp Michael, so at least I enjoy your take and insight. Remember this is the same mush that while me and you were praising Agustin Ramirez after the Jazz trade they called him a future backup catcher. King of small sample size.

I don't have a clean list of all 21 picks but yes we did draft all college players. 1 sophomore, all juniors except 4 seniors and 2 fifth year players. As with most drafts, it will take some time to tell how successful this year's draft was. Certainly an unusual strategy to pick no high school players at all. It seems like the emphasis is going young in the international signings and being closer to ready with the draft picks. We will see how this plays out.

Max Williams, OF Florida State. 4 picks on first day and 4 college bats.

Brandon Compton, OF, Arizona St. Meh numbers last year after a good 2023. Three picks, three college bats.

Next pick hopefully either Devin Taylor, Murf Gray, Henry Ford, or a flier on Angel Cervantes.

Yes. That's who I wanted. Cam Cannarella from Clemson. Kid can hit and field. Was a top 10 preseason pick and fell despite hitting .353.

We are up. Two of the next four picks.

Aiva Arquette is our pick. A bit surprised we went college. Big time bat. .354, 19 hrs, 51 rbis, 1.115ops. Could be a corner infielder. Big 6-5 frame.

Pirates take Seth Hernandez, best HS pitcher in draft. Here we go.

Holliday to Rox, Doyle to Cards. Pirates up then Fish. Arquette, Hernandez, Carlson, Arnold, and Parker all available. Still think it's Parker.

Kade Anderson to the Mariners. Let's hope we aren't going under slot at 7.

whoa, Tyler Bremner goes #2 to the Angels. He might be in the major in two weeks. He was a preseason top 10 and dropped. That is a bit of a shocker.

Eli Willits went #1 to the Nats. That is the guy we wanted but he rocketed up the draft board in the last month.
