I hope the Dolphins get this guy
The Falcons are reportedly gauging trade interest in CB DeAngelo Hall, who enters the final year of his contract in 2008. New coach Mike Smith wants to wrap up Hall long term, but the Falcons are tearing the roster apart before building it back up. If they can get a late first-round pick for Hall, they'll almost certainly pull the trigger. Hall is on record as saying he wants to be dealt if he doesn't get a new contract. Hopefully Parcells can pull off the 32nd pick for Hall. What a way to start the rebuilding process off if we can get him.

Bye Bye Zach Thomas
God I hope he dosen't go to the Patriots. Hopefully he'll go to the Giants, Chargers.. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if he went to the Colts. All three of those teams have just as good a chance to win the Super Bowl next year as the Patriots. Certain things should never happen and one of those things is Zach Thomas playing for the Patriots.

Williams will be a good player for the Kings if they give him minutes. Never understood why they didn't play him in Atlanta, even before they drafted Horford. Solid player to build around Martin.

I think he was faking his injury and don't like how he came back at Bill Walton. Shaq needs to show some class, even if he is better. The man is a Hall of Famer.

Yea I'm happy to see Miami squaring off with Florida again. That'll be a game. Hopefully CBS covers the game. I hate watching games on ESPN.

2008 Hurricanes Football Schedule
Scary OOC for the Canes but I think they have a legit chance at winning 8 games. I'm hoping Jacory Harris starts at QB this year for the Canes. Miami kid, 6'4" who runs a 4.62, Florida's Mr. Football coming from the nation's #1 High School team. He just needs to put some weight on and we got a top notch QB again.

National Signing Day
I agree with ya, I'm loving the WRs we picked up. Aldarius Johnson and Tommy Streeter are studs. Kendal Thompkins is going to be the next Roscoe Parrish/Devin Hester. Whoever is the QB next year is gonna have some dangerous weapons.

Official 2007-2008 NBA Trading Deadline Discussion
The Shaquille O'Neal trade to the Phoenix Suns is not a rumor. In fact, I expect it to happen sometime early afternoon on Wednesday. O'Neal will be in Phoenix on Wednesday for a physical, according to a Suns team source. The Suns have moved Wednesday morning's shoot-around, which was originally scheduled at 9:45 a.m., to 4:45 p.m. - hours prior to their contest against the New Orleans Hornets. The Suns will part ways with Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks and move to a conventional style with O'Neal playing the 5. The Suns have major concerns about chemistry issues on the team and feel a trade for O'Neal would alleviate those issues, plus give them the post defender they lack. The money would be a wash this year and next, but the Suns would be on the hook for $20 million in 2009-10 - the final year of O'Neals' contract. There is a belief that the window for Steve Nash to win a championship is down to this year and next and that O'Neal would give the Suns a better chance to win now. My sources tell me that O'Neal desperately wants to come to Phoenix and will be rejuvenated to have a chance to win again and that the Suns do not have any concerns over his injured hip. The Suns will not expect O'Neal to dominate as he did in his prime, in fact his minutes will probably hover around 25 per game as they try to keep him fresh for the playoffs and a potential matchup against Tim Duncan and the Spurs. Just what this means for Mike D'Antoni is anyone's guess. It is clear that a trade for O'Neal would be a negative indictment on the Suns current style and would suggest that management does not believe the current run-and-gun style can win a title. Sports 620 KTAR's Craig Grialou contributed to this report http://www.ktar.com/sports/?nid=126&sid=724522 Rumor also has it that if we make this deal, that would mean we may have passed on a deal with the Mavs involving Josh Howard.

Get the deal done. I think it is a win-win situation for the Heat. If he opts out of his contract, we create a nice amount of cap space. If he dosen't, we get one of the best SFs in the league who is still in his prime and gives Wade a nice new runningmate for the next year and a half.

Official 2007-2008 NBA Trading Deadline Discussion
Heat shopping Shaq? He sat, cleared his throat and eliminated all bravado from his voice. And then, Shaquille O'Neal spoke for the first time about the end of a long line - his failing to play in an All-Star Game for the first time in 15 seasons - with the grace and dignity he has always shown in milestone moments... Meanwhile, several media outlets have reported the Heat is shopping O'Neal before the trade deadline. But O'Neal, who has an additional two years and $40 million remaining on his contract, trusts he would hear about such talk from Riley, the team president. From Prosportsdaily.com via Palm Beach Post. Got this off of Hoopsworld.com Shaq Out, Marion In?: Despite Pat Riley telling media that Shaq is not going to be traded, more than a few league sources say there have been real talks about Shaq heading to Phoenix in a Shawn Marion ? Boris Diaw deal. Suns sources downplay Shaq coming in, but continue to say they hear the Suns are indeed looking. Why would Phoenix take such a risk? Despite Shaq's declining career, he is still a dominate force down low and if healthy he could be the difference for Phoenix in the playoffs as teams would have to choose who to double-team ? Shaq or Amare. The Suns according to sources close to the team are growing tired of Shawn Marion, and if Miami will take Diaw's contract it seems there is some validity to the idea the Suns would sniff at Shaq. Seems like an odd pairing as Shaq surely would struggle with the Suns tempo ? unless the Suns have decided that slowing things down might be the key to a title. But they are also reporting the Heat are interested in trading Udonis to Orlando for J.J. Redick so take that when a grain of salt.

Horrible Bombings In Iraq
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Two mentally disabled women were strapped with explosives Friday and sent into busy Baghdad markets, where they were blown up by remote control, a top Iraqi government official said. Iraqi soldiers secure the scene of a bombing Friday at a popular pet market in central Baghdad. 1 of 2 The bombs killed at least 98 people and wounded more than 200 at two popular pet markets on the holiest day of the week for Muslims, authorities said. In both bombings, the attackers were mentally disabled women whose explosive belts were remotely detonated, Gen. Qasim Atta, spokesman for Baghdad's security plan, told state television. An aide to Atta said that people referred to the bomber at central Baghdad's al-Ghazl market as the "crazy woman" and that the bomber at a second market had an unspecified birth disability. Watch how bombers target large crowds ? The nationalities and identities of the women have not been released. U.S. military officials referred to the two attacks as suicide bombings, saying both women detonated the explosive devices. The U.S. attributed the attacks to al Qaeda in Iraq and made no reference to the mental conditions of the women. "By targeting innocent Iraqis, they show their true demonic character," said Lt. Col. Steve Stover, spokesman for the Multi-National Division-Baghdad. "They care nothing for the Iraqi people; they want to subjugate them and forcefully create a greater Islamic sharia state," he said, referring to Islamic law. One bomb blew up at al-Ghazl animal market around 10:30 a.m., killing 69 and wounding more than 140. The second blast happened about a half-hour later in the New Baghdad neighborhood pet market, killing 29 people and wounding 67. Al-Ghazl pet market is a popular destination where people buy and sell cats, dogs, monkeys and other animals. Attackers have struck the market on Fridays -- its busiest day -- several times in the last year or so. A January 2007 bombing killed 15 and wounded 52 at the pet market, and 13 people died and 58 were wounded in a November attack. The violence, the bloodiest series of attacks in the capital since August, broke a brief stretch of relative calm as attacks and deaths dropped at the time of the 2007 increase in U.S. troop strength known as the surge. On Thursday, a parked car exploded in a predominantly Shiite district in the Iraqi capital, killing five civilians and wounding eight others, the Interior Ministry said. The attack occurred after a string of roadside bombings that wounded 21 people, ministry said. In one, a bomb near the deputy minister of electricity's convoy wounded at least five people. Also Thursday, a spokesman for the Polish military said Poland will withdraw its troops from Iraq by the end of October. October 31 will be the last day of the Polish presence in Iraq, Maj. Dariusz Kacperczyk said in Warsaw. New Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has promised to bring troops home from Iraq, where the country has been one of the larger contingents apart from the United States and Britain. About 900 Polish troops are in Iraq, with most in Diwaniya, some in Baghdad and others in the southern city of Kut. Twenty-two soldiers from Poland have died during the nearly 5-year war in Iraq. http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/02/01/...main/index.html That is f**ked up. RIP to all the innocent victims.

Dallas McPherson signed
Marlins are splurging now! I actually like the Gonzales and McPherson signings. If nothing else this offense should be fun to watch.

Gonzo Coming
Good signing if true. Still a solid contact hitter with a good amount of power who can steal a couple of bases.
